Heaven's POV
I opened my eyes and saw that I was in the healing room, it smelled of herbs. I had gotten used to the scent because I had always visited the healing room to heal from wounds Sofia or the Alphas would inflict on me.
"Careful dear, don't try to move" Mrs Higgins said striking my hair.
"You're lucky to be alive," Mrs. Higgins continued, as she spread something warm at my back using her healing touch. She had the gift of healing since she was born.
She had been the healer of the pack for centuries before she official retired from healing duties to become the head chef of the pack, but so many people in the pack still respected her for her gifts. She and my mother used to be friend, which led her to care for me after she died .
She was also the only person who saw me as someone worth caring for and I'll be forever grateful.
"If you had taken another lash you would have died right there. Lucky enough, Damian had stopped it .I don't know what possessed them to give such punishment"
But I wasn't lucky. In fact, I was the most unlucky wolf in the entire pack.
"Don't be worried, you'll be fine, I premise " Mrs Huggins murmured as if she felt my fear even tho I couldn't talk.
I felt as Mrs Huggins continued to heal my back with her ability. The pain on my back began to reduce and I felt relief even tho it was slow.
I would have shifted to heal my self but that was the thing, I was wolfless, the only one with out a wolf in the entire pack
I was supposed to get my wolf at age ten but I didn't. People had speculated that it may have been because of what had happened to my parent that caused to to be wolfless.
I almost gave up on finding a mate because finding a mate was never possible with out a wolf. But after everything I facing made me hold on to finding my mate and finally leaving the Fullmoon pack.
"I know what you're thinking," Mrs. Higgins said, as if she could read my mind.
I didn't say anything r. I just watched her silently.
"You're wondering if you would continue to live like this. Aren't you? And I nodded in agreement.
Then she put her hand on my head and stroked my hair.
"Trust me when i say they thins will be better. You're going to get your wolf, find your mate, and leave this park to start a new life." Mrs. Higgins said smiling.
Although I didn't fully believe that I would ever get out from this situation I was in, but it was great to know that somebody was rooting for me.
"Rest now. You'll need your strength tomorrow." She said as she pulled a thin blanket over my chest. But before she could stand up to leave, someone burst open the door.
It's was Sofia, she stood there angry, with her face burning hot red.
"See who's getting princess treatment." She sneered.
"The traitor's daughter is getting special treatment in the healing wing while the real pack members have to wait?"
Mrs. Higgins straightened her back on a chair, " This girl almost died today all because of you. Don't you have a conscience?"
Ha ha ha
I heard Sofia laugh, then she continued. " Wait, I'm supposed to feel pity for this bitch? I don't think so."
Sophia moved to the side of my bed and looked down at me with a disgusted hatred.
"Do you think they stopped the punishment because they hate you less? No, you bitch, thats not it."Sofia said as she leaned closer to me and lowered her voice to whisper.
"They did it because they hated you even more. They need you alive to keep punishing you. And trust me, you're better off dead."
I was already feeling bad knowing that they didn't stop the punishment because they pitied me, but she was rubbing it on my face to make me feel even worse.
I felt more than ever to get my voice back so that I would tell her to fuck off from my side cause of how sick she made me feel.
"That's enough. Get out!"Mrs. Higgins said as she grabbed Sophia's arms in my defense.
"Or what! You old hag" Sofia spat back
"You'll tell the alphas... Huh. What are you going to say? That I'm being mean to the daughter of the man who almost ruined the pack?" She said as she tilted her head.
"They don't care, old woman. Nobody cares about her in this pack, except you."Sophia said as she laughed so hard.
But Mrs. Higgins said nothing, She tightened her grip around Sofia's arm, making her cry out in pain.
"Ouch" she cried out
"Let go of me, or you'll be the next to be stripped and beaten in the courtyard when I tell the alphas how you slapped me and ruined my face." Sofia said threatening Mrs. Higgins
"What! But, I didn't hit you", Mrs Higgins said surprised.
"It doesn't matter if you did it or not, they'll believe what ever I say and get you punished for it or do you think they'll go easy on you just because you saved their life?" Sofia said still struggling to break free from Mrs. Higgins grip.
The former Luna had some complications during the birth of the quadruplets, none of the healer in the pack and healers from neighboring packs could help. Everyone kept saying that the Luna and the quadruplets wouldn't survive. Mrs Higgins was the only one able to save the quadruplets and their mother, so from that day on, she became valuable to the entire pack.
"They wouldn't do that, the Alphas are fine wise men, the can tell right from wrong" Mrs Higgins said convinced, she didn't believe that the Alpha brothers would hurt her on the basis of what Sofia tell them.
Only if she knew that Sofia had sabotaged me and the Alpha brothers had believed it without hesitation, she wouldn't be so confident.
Hahaha, Don't be delusional,Sofia said as she laughed
"Didn't Heaven tell you? Oh yeah, I almost forgot, she can't speak," she said turning to look at me for a brief moment, then turned back to look at Mrs. Higgins and continued
"I'm their golden girl and the future Luna of this pack, the only wolf worthy to be by their side and they'll listen to anything I say. So let me go, old fool."
Mrs Higgins let go immediately with shock.
Then Sofia turned facing me completely,
"Heaven, the ascension ball is in two days, I'll need another dress, so get to work and stop acting like a little pussy. I'll be expecting it at the Alphas chamber by tomorrow evening, nothing less, nothing more." Sofia scoffed and left.
Mrs Higgins then turned to look at me still shocked by everything Sofia had said. "That girl is mannerless and heartless just like her mother and I'm not even surprised, like mother like daughter."
I said nothing and just sighed. Even after everything that happened today, she still wanted me to sew another dress in one night. So yes she was a real bitch.
