"Since that Pariston wants to target us..."
The House Robot asked: "Why don't we simply expose some of the things he has done?"
"It's very hard, because Pariston would never leave behind any trace that might endanger himself."
Luke understood that rat far too well: "If we really could find something, then that only means..."
"That it's absolutely a trap he purposely left behind."
"He would never leave even the slightest risk for himself."
"And also..."
Luke leaned back into the Vice-Chairman's chair, relaxing a little: "Pariston made one valid point, being targeted by those government elites is indeed a troublesome thing."
"Taking down Garcia alone is already conspicuous enough."
"If we keep pressing Pariston, it's impossible not to attract suspicion."
"Too much is as bad as too little. Handling one at a time is enough."
"Besides..."
Luke smiled: "I've already grasped most of the contents in that Black Report."
"What I don't lack now is time; I can slowly grind them down."
Taking Garcia this time was a perfect opening move for Luke's future plans.
If anyone else tried to harm him, he could gather decisive evidence against them at the fastest speed.
Within the Hunter Association, there was only one person like Pariston.
As for the rest, this method would absolutely work again and again.
"And also, from Garcia's materials, I think I've discovered something... interesting."
Luke lifted his head, his gaze passing through the window as he stared at the far distance.
That was the location of the Hunter Association's cruelest detention facility, the Kanan Prison Camp.
Kanan Prison Camp was the ultimate prison used by the Hunter Association for permanent isolation and sealing of extremely dangerous criminals.
This prison did not aim to rehabilitate, but to erase threats from the world entirely.
It mainly imprisoned individuals whose abilities were too dangerous, who could not be killed through normal means, or who held core secrets of the association.
It sat atop a sheer, snow-covered cliff, standing tall amidst endless blizzards.
It was heavily guarded by Blacklist Hunters and special hunters who were absolutely loyal to the association.
All guards were strictly trained and equipped with various anti-Nen weapons.
This prison held nearly all individuals who had committed monstrous crimes within the association.
Why nearly all… because within this prison were also ordinary people with no ability to fight back.
They were not powerful Nen users, nor dangerous antisocial criminals.
Their only identity was that they were descendants of the former Shadow Organization.
Originally, they were placed in a secluded location to live quietly, away from the world.
But the higher-ups, still uneasy and unconvinced, did not let them go.
They sent people again to capture them and stuff them into this confinement center.
Under special guards, they lived in darkness day after day.
Every day, they labored like walking corpses, doing endless, ceaseless work.
Until eventually, they collapsed into the ice and snow, never getting up again.
The rest of their lives would be spent here, until everything was exhausted.
Luke naturally understood the existence of the Kanan Prison Camp and those descendants of the Shadow Organization.
However, Luke was not interested in those inside; rather, it was the three who were outside...
Back when Garcia led the team to capture those descendants of the Shadow Organization, three children used the ensuing chaos to escape.
Then those three children spent years following the trail, and finally, almost ten years later, they found the battlefield where Chairman Netero had once eradicated the Shadow Organization.
And they made a vow there, offering sacrifices and a price, to awaken the leader of the Shadow Organization, Jed, who had been defeated there.
Moreover, under the influence of that overwhelmingly powerful On, Jed revived again and even possessed the peak power he had in his youth.
Along with that, he also bestowed his blood upon those three, allowing them to possess the same power he had.
These were the latter trio known as Gaki, Shura, and Rengoku.
These three then followed Jed and first went to the Kanan Prison Camp, attacking the guards there.
Immediately after, they arrived at Heavens Arena and began executing their plan to kidnap Chairman Netero to target the Hunter Association.
And they chose their timing perfectly, right when the Battle Olympia at the Heavens Arena was being held.
Many famous figures had gathered to watch this once-every-two-years grand event.
Thus, Jed and those three easily crushed all the forces here.
In one move, they invaded the place and even succeeded in restraining Chairman Netero.
Among them, Rengoku paid the ultimate price, her life, to restrain Netero.
As for the remaining two, Gaki and Shura, both displayed excellent qualities and talents.
Gaki was undeniably an Echancher-type, the strongest combatant of the three.
He had strength not inferior to a Heaven's Arena floor master.
Facing Zushi, who had also been promoted to floor master, he easily defeated him.
Besides getting some nosebleeds himself, he suffered no other injuries.
As for Shura, he belonged to the technical, brain–type category.
It was also thanks to his ability that he easily infiltrated and paralyzed Heaven's Arena's complex communications and security systems.
He turned the tower into an isolated island of information, creating the perfect environment for his companions' actions.
He also had a clear mind, knowing exactly what to do at what time.
He was the strategist–type talent.
It was even very likely that the reason the trio managed to avoid Garcia's capture and sneak out through the encirclement was that Shura analyzed and assisted them.
And Luke happened to be short on manpower at this time.
These three, although having gained great power from receiving Jed's On, still undeniably possessed remarkable talent of their own.
Considering this, Luke quietly arrived inside the Kanan Prison Camp.
He also personally witnessed the miserable state of those descendants of the Shadow Organization imprisoned here, living every day in heavy, exhausting labor and extreme abuse.
And this kind of life continued almost every single day until the final moment of their lives.
There was basically no hope; one could say it was filled with despair.
Living meant suffering, and it would have been far better to die early and be freed.
They numbly and mechanically repeated this life, worse than death.
And Luke came here to help free them.
Not the kind of freedom that comes with death, but rather to free them from this darkness.
If they wanted to escape this life, the only way was to rescue them.
