As we start walking toward Momo's to grab a bite to eat, I can't fend off an uncomfortable shiver. Though everyone has mostly dispersed and left me alone, I can still feel their questioning eyes on my back. Men drift back toward their halls and firepits, casting repeated glances in my direction.
Oddly enough... the women linger. They don't swarm me or try to talk to me, but they're watching me unabashed, their eyes round with feelings I'm not smart enough to understand.
I continue along with Roan, who is pulling Ren and me with him, but my mind is elsewhere.
Before all this change, I moved freely between circles; now there's a boundary. There aren't any rules saying women should be treated as entirely separate entities; it's just a matter of cultural respect.
