The two issues he had to deal with now required quite some attention from his part, because simply, he had to keep the wounded alive after he had sown them up.
For one thing, he knew that a lot of them had plenty of internal damage. Be it broken bones, cracked bones, torn tendons, lost nerves, and plenty of other damage of that equivalent, he had to heal them, fix them, so they wouldn't spend their week in pain, for one thing, but also so the overwhelming pain didn't knock them down into an eternal slumber.
He understood how burdening physical pain could be, and he figured that broken bones were high up there in the pain scale, even though the cavemen were barely showing that they were experiencing pain, he knew what they were going through.
