Uchiha Naraku, now covered in a swarm of clinging explosive tags, charged toward a Rock Hidden ninja who had been watching the spectacle.
That Rock Hidden ninja had actually smiled with satisfaction upon seeing Naraku caught in the explosive flame array.
Then Naraku came straight for him.
The Iwa ninja stared at Naraku in utter bewilderment. Holy shit, don't come over here!
The Iwa ninja screamed inwardly, turning to flee—but it was already too late.
Naraku was already upon him...
Grabbing him by the back of the neck in one swift motion!
"Hahahaha! You thought this would hold me hostage? Let me show you what it means to be a true warrior!"
"No! Gōgan! Save me! We're comrades!"
Though the unfortunate Iwagakure ninja screamed at the top of his lungs, Gōgan had no intention of explaining. He merely roared:
"Haaah!"
As his words fell, a thunderous boom erupted. The explosive tags roared to life, transforming into fierce flames that detonated one after another.
After the deafening roar, thick smoke instantly engulfed the scene...
"Kawa, Iwa no Mura will never forget your sacrifice."
Gōgan wiped the sweat from his forehead and declared with righteous resolve.
"Yes, this is our Stone Will."
The Iwa no Mura member who had deployed the Earth Spike nodded. After all, it wasn't him who had sacrificed.
"Damn it, how could such a small child be so troublesome? Thankfully, we finally dealt with her."
Another surviving Iwa ninja exhaled a heavy breath of stale air, relieved to have survived once more.
"Fire Release: Great Dragon Fire Technique!"
Suddenly, from within the thick smoke, Naraku's cold voice echoed again.
The Rock Hidden ninja, who had just been celebrating his survival, only managed to utter a startled "Nani?"
Before being slammed a hundred meters away by the fiercely charging fire dragon, landing charred and lifeless on the ground.
Neither Gankō nor the Earth Spike ninja had expected Naraku to still be alive!
After the fire dragon vanished, the smoke cleared. They turned their gaze toward Naraku's location.
"Impossible."
Their fallen comrades lay blown to pieces, yet their enemy stood unscathed.
Well, not entirely unscathed—at least Naraku's stylish blue shorts had been scorched to black rags by the blast.
"This bastard isn't human! He's a monster beyond our power to defeat! Run! Back to the village and request Lord Ash's reinforcements!"
Gōgan needed no prompting. Before the Tōryūgun ninja could finish speaking, Gōgan had already bolted several meters ahead.
The Tōryūgun ninja cursed Gōgan under his breath, calling him a shameless beast, then refused to be left behind, sprinting desperately toward Yagura Village.
Unfortunately, his luck ran out.
After barely a hundred meters, he was overtaken from behind by Naraku, who had activated his [Overwhelming Might]. A straight punch pierced through his chest, ending his life.
Meanwhile, Gōgan used the Tsuchi-ryū Gunshin ninja's death as cover to continue his escape....
Inside Key Village just minutes earlier, Sarutobi Shin'nosuke's assassination attempt had failed, and he and his target had parted ways.
Meanwhile, Uchiha Itachi and Senju Chikamaru joined forces to ambush another Iwagakure ninja.
This ninja didn't share Yameguri's luck. Caught off guard by Itachi's strike, his right hand was then bound by Chikamaru's Water Whip.
In his disorientation, Itachi thrust his blade through the ninja's throat.
In the end, he met his bitter demise far from home.
"You're talking about the Third Hokage's son—Sarutobi Shin'nosuke, right? What a pity. Your old Hokage is about to lose his son!"
The ninja supporting Yamagumo wore a brown combat vest with an Iwagakure headband tied at his waist. His hair was styled into numerous small braids, and his dark complexion bore a resemblance to Tōsen Kaname.
Just then, a thunderous roar erupted from the distant hillside, followed by the earth itself trembling.
It felt like an earthquake.
Several Iwa ninja looked on in shock, unsure what had happened. But Sarutobi Shinno and his two companions knew this technique all too well.
After all, Naraku's ninjutsu truly lived up to its name—it was genuinely breathtaking!
"That guy is Hitozumi, a top-tier jōnin from Iwagakure. Watch your backs."
Sarutobi Shinnojo glanced toward Naraku's position with his peripheral vision.
(Little Naraku unleashed something breathtaking—the enemy must have suffered casualties. Seems we don't need to worry too much.)
(Still, we need to finish this quickly and rush to support Little Naraku.)
With that thought, Sarutobi Shinno-suke ignored the taunt and launched a fierce assault on Hito first.
Meanwhile, Uchiha Itachi, sensing Naraku was in danger, quickly cast a Chakara-sensing technique and attacked Yamagumo and the other Iwagakure ninja again.
The battle erupted, instantly plunging the scene into chaos.
Facing Shinno's relentless assault, Ashitobi remained remarkably composed. With his Rock Fist Technique and Hardening Technique, he moved like a giant turtle capable of high-speed maneuvers.
Shinno's attacks often had no effect on him, yet Shinno dared not risk even a single hit.
Suddenly, Shinno found himself in a perilous situation.
Ashitobi, however, showed no signs of urgency, for he too had his own plan.
After setting several traps throughout Key Village, he waited quietly for his prey to arrive.
Sure enough, the sensory ninja among them quickly detected Shinobu's squad approaching.
They were also surprised to discover the enemy had split their forces, leaving one member behind on the hillside.
Gray Dust acted decisively, dispatching two jōnin and six elite chūnin to swiftly capture the isolated ninja.
Meanwhile, he led three companions to hold off the enemy's main force.
Thus, if he could stall them for even a short while, his subordinates would have ample time to capture the girl alive.
Based on his intelligence regarding Sarutobi Shinno, this tactic might not deter the enemy entirely, but it would certainly provoke Shinno into action.
Then, with their numerical superiority, annihilating the enemy would be no problem at all!
The Third Tsuchikage, Onoki, was old. If he could kill Sarutobi Shinno, becoming the next leader of Iwagakure might not be impossible!
This thought spurred him to attack Shinno with even greater ferocity.
As he moved, he secretly channeled chakra into his legs, transforming the earth beneath him into unstable explosives.
By ruthlessly killing the isolated ninja to enrage Shinno, this setup might just become the decisive factor.
"Raiden? Pseudo-Darkness!"
Sarutobi Shinno leapt into the air, his hand seals as swift as ever. In less than a second, he unleashed a torrent of furious lightning!
