Within Key Village, flames and explosions shattered the deathly silence.
Almost the instant the two-story Western-style house was engulfed in terrifying firelight.
Two windows on the second floor shattered simultaneously as Uchiha Itachi and Sarutobi Shin'nosuke—his right hand gripping Senju Chikamaru—burst through the windows together.
But it wasn't over.
The instant the two leapt through the window, tossed backward by the blast wave, the enemy launched their assault.
"Earth Release: Stone Chain Blast!"
Four distinct voices echoed from four directions. Immediately, soccer-ball-sized rocks rained down upon them from all sides.
Sarutobi Shinno, Uchiha Itachi, and Senju Chikamaru were struck almost simultaneously by the barrage of stones. Within mere breaths, the trio was pelted into sieves.
"Hmph, hmph, hmph... Truly pathetic..."
From the southern side of the duplex mansion, a figure slowly emerged. Clad in a brown jōnin vest and wearing the Iwa-gakure headband,
Adopting an expression that said Konoha was nothing special, he declared with a smug grin.
"Yamagumo, watch out! It's a Rock Hidden technique!"
A companion beside him sensed trouble and shouted a warning.
But before he could finish his words—
Sarutobi Shinno had already burst from the ground, a cold, gleaming kunai streaking straight toward Yamagumo's vulnerable throat!
(It's over. Too late!)
Just as Yamagure thought his end had come, a figure suddenly materialized beside him.
An arm shot out, blocking Shinno's deadly thrust.
"Clang!"
Shinno's kunai struck the man's arm with a sharp ring.
It turned out both of this man's arms were encased in a thick layer of rock.
This was the Rock Fist technique!
The intruder moved with lightning speed, his other hand striking toward Shin'nosuke almost simultaneously.
But instead of retreating, Shin'nosuke charged forward. Dodging the man's fierce blow with a quick turn of his head, he kicked the man squarely in the chest and used the momentum to leap backward.
Though struck by Shin'nosuke's kick, the man only stumbled back two steps before steadying himself.
For a moment, the situation reached a stalemate....
The instant the explosion rocked the village, Uchiha Naraku keenly sensed eight faint auras rapidly converging in an encircling formation.
One of the aura's owners watched Naraku's slender, petite silhouette and let out a wicked grin.
"Looks like Konoha really has no one left. Sending such a small child into battle..."
But that was fine. He'd capture this girl, then brutally kill her in front of her teammates. It might just have an unexpected effect.
With that thought, he charged ahead, leaving his comrades behind. Drawing the short sword from his back, he lunged savagely toward Naraku.
Only when the whirlwind was upon her did Naraku turn, her movements deliberate and unhurried.
"Too slow!"
Almost the instant Naraku turned, a short blade slashed at his shoulder.
Yet the blade struck Naraku's shoulder with a metallic clang.
"What?!"
The attacker behind him was a man clad in black. He never dreamed his strike wouldn't even break the girl's pale skin.
"That's not how you hit someone. Let me show you."
Uchiha Naraku's crimson double-tomoe Sharingan eyes fixed intently on the black-clad man before her. Her cherry lips parted, her voice cold and clear.
The black-clad man now realized he'd kicked a steel plate. Just as he prepared to retreat, Uchiha Naraku's right fist slammed toward him at lightning speed?
True to his reputation as a Jonin from Iwagakure, the black-clad man instantly abandoned his short sword. Retreating while swiftly forming hand seals, he commanded:
"Earth Release: Earth Spear!"
The yellow skin beneath his garments rapidly darkened to black—a highly practical technique combining offense and defense.
His hardened skin became as resilient as steel. Barring certain Lightning Release techniques, few enemies could pierce his defenses.
Yet, just as he confidently believed this might be his chance to counterattack, Naraku's seemingly light punch struck his chest.
In an instant, the black-clad man's eyes bulged, and blood spurted violently from his mouth.
Clearly, his internal organs had suffered devastating damage.
Immediately afterward, his body flew backward like a cannonball.
A terrifying shockwave radiated outward, sweeping away the four shadowy figures behind him who had rushed to catch the man. They were knocked back over ten meters before collapsing in agony.
They too had clearly sustained significant injuries.
The black-clad Iwa ninja struck by Naraku fared even worse. He flew an unknown distance, crashing through countless trees.
He finally collapsed in the forest a hundred meters away, dead as a doornail.
After mastering his deliberate punch to perfection, Naraku realized he no longer needed to strike elaborate poses like before.
This opened up a whole new range of applications.
Though Naraku had killed one and repelled four with a single Intent-Infused Punch,
the enemy still vastly outnumbered her.
Their counterattack arrived swiftly:
"Earth Release: Muddy Swamp Technique!"
Naraku felt the ground beneath her feet rapidly soften, unable to bear her weight.
Inevitably, she lost her balance.
In an instant, two dark figures closed in from left and right.
"Die!"
Two kunai stabbed toward Naraku simultaneously. Unable to regain her balance, she had nowhere to dodge.
Of course, Naraku didn't need to dodge. Left and right, huh?
"Powerful Skull-Splitter!"
A powerful gravitational pull surged forth. The two ambushing ninjas didn't even have time to react.
Naraku seized them, one on each side, as their chakra froze in that instant—utterly immobilized.
The next moment, their heads slammed together violently.
Overwhelming dizziness prevented any further resistance. One was swiftly hoisted by the collar into the air by Naraku.
"Breathtaking!"
"Quick, attack her while she's airborne!"
The ninja below, who had activated the Mud Technique, was stunned. What kind of monster was this girl? He had clearly immobilized her with the Mud Technique. How could she jump so high without any leverage?
This defied the laws of physics!
Hearing the mud ninja's command, the remaining combat-ready ninjas simultaneously hurled kunai at Naraku in the air.
However, Naraku simply used the unfortunate soul she held as a human shield.
Except for one kunai that struck at an impossibly precise angle, piercing Naraku's calf, the rest of the kunai collectively turned their comrade into a hedgehog.
"BOOM!"
A thunderous crash echoed as Naraku landed, shattering the earth. All ninjas hurling kunai nearby were instantly caught in the blast.
The previously stunned ninja and another Chūnin who couldn't dodge in time were crushed to death by flying debris.
"Damn it! Who the hell is this woman? Kill her now or we're all dead!"
A Rock Hidden ninja, seeing half his comrades vanish in an instant, grew frantic.
"Need I say more? Prepare that technique!"
The Mud Swamp ninja dodged falling rocks mid-air while forming hand seals again:
"Earth Release: Earth Spike Barrage!"
Row upon row of spears formed from solid rock erupted from the ground. Even with Naraku's regenerative abilities, she didn't want to be skewered like a sieve.
She leapt backward swiftly.
But the moment Naraku stepped on a rock, it suddenly transformed into a mass of explosive tags, clinging to her legs.
"Fire Release: Explosive Flame Array! Die!"
