Chapter 6 - 006 - Lottery Rewards and Cultivation

The carriage rumbled softly along the dirt path, sunlight falling through the window and warming Lin Yuanfeng's shoulders. As soon as they reached his home.

He handed the driver four spirit stones. "Pick me up tomorrow at 11 a.m.," he instructed, then stepped down.

The driver nodded, a hint of curiosity in his eyes, and bowed slightly. Lin Yuanfeng watched him leave, then turned toward the house.

Entering the house, he approached his parents room.

Inside, his parents were still weak, resting on their straw beds. Lin Yuanfeng's heart tightened at the sight of them—Lin Changsheng's rugged face pale and weary, Yue Lingxin's gentle eyes clouded with fatigue.

"I bought a courtyard in the Inner City," he said as he entered, trying to sound casual. "We'll move tomorrow. Don't worry, I'll handle everything here before we leave."

His parents exchanged glances, curiosity and concern mingling in their eyes. "Fenger, where did the money come from? "Lin Changsheng asked, voice low but filled with worry.

Lin Yuanfeng smiled faintly. "I got a reward for returning the lost goods to their owner. That's how."

They studied him silently for a moment, then slowly nodded.

Satisfied, he took two porcelain bottles from his bag and handed one to each of them. "These are Qi Nourishing Pills—ten each. Take them slowly."

"Fenger…" Yue Lingxin's voice trembled, tears welling in her eyes.

"It's also a reward from that person," Lin Yuanfeng reassured them. "You don't need to worry."

They hesitated for a moment, looking at the pills in his hands, until he pulled out two more bottles from his pocket, showing them confidently.

"See? I also have cultivation resources. Consume these and get healthy."

His parents finally relaxed. "Fenger. We won't be a burden to you in the future," Lin Changsheng said softly.

Lin Yuanfeng shook his head, gentle but firm. "Don't talk like that. I will take care of you both."

As he changed their bandages, he noticed most of the wounds had already closed. The dark bruises from the beast attacks were fading. By tomorrow morning, they might be fully healed, he thought.

Later, he stepped outside and sat on a stone slab near the house, feeling the breeze carry the scent of soil and faint spiritual qi from the farmland. He focused in his mind and summoned the system panel.

a light screen appeared before him

He realized he forgot to use the lottery last night because he was out of place recovering from the system's sudden appearance.

"System, draw a grade-1 lottery," he thought.

The voice echoed softly in his mind:

"Congratulations host for winning grade-1 lottery! You have got Top Grade-1 Wood Qi Guiding Staff as your reward."

He retrieved the staff from the inventory. The smooth wooden frame hummed faintly with green vitality. His mind was focused on it and then a light screen appeared explaining about it

'Wood Qi Guiding Staff

Exp : A top Grade-1 artifact that can be used to accelerate the growth speed of a plant. Spiritual consumption varies based on the number of plants and its grade.'

Excited, he pointed it at a small normal plant nearby and poured in his spiritual energy. A soft green light enveloped the plant, and in moments, it grew rapidly, reaching four feet in height. Spiritual energy was almost negligible.

Encouraged by this result he put the staff in his normal storage pouch, he summoned the next lottery rewards:

"Congratulations host for winning special reward in grade-1 lottery! You have got Growth Acceleration Card*3 as your reward."

"Congratulations host for winning special reward in grade-1 lottery! You have got Comprehension Card as your reward."

Lin Yuanfeng laughed silently. This… this could solve my cultivation and money problems for now.

That night, he returned to his room and meditated, consuming a Qi Nourishing Pill he carefully circulated the spiritual energy through his meridians but couldn't open the Guanyuan felt resistance. Only after consuming four pills in total, he felt a strong surge of spiritual energy within his meridians and pierced through the blockage at once and opened up the Guanyuan point .

Crack…

His body trembled slightly as the energy flowed freely, and he had broken through to Qi Refining 3rd Layer.

He exhaled, sweat beading on his forehead. I should use the Talent Upgradation Card soon to improve cultivation efficiency.

Exhausted from nonstop cultivation, Lin Yuanfeng lay down and closed his eyes. The soft moonlight filtered through the window, illuminating the small room. For the first time, he felt both hope and determination.

Morning sunlight spilled gently through the window, painting the room in soft gold.

He slowly opened his eyes, feeling an unusual clarity in his mind and warmth coursing through his meridians. His body felt light, brimming with vitality and spiritual energy. A faint smile tugged at his lips.

He stood, circulated his qi once, and felt no stagnation—everything flowed smoothly. His muscles were relaxed, and his spirit was energized.

He flexed his fingers, making a gentle fist.

He took a slow breath.

The tasks ahead of him no longer felt heavy. Instead, he felt a small, comforting sense of happiness.

He stepped out of his room and quietly walked toward his parents' room. The wooden floorboards creaked softly beneath his footsteps. After a knock, he gently slid the wooden door open, he saw them already awake, sitting comfortably and conversing softly.

His parents looked far better compared to yesterday—his father, Lin Changsheng, looked strong, and his mother, Yue Lingxin, had rosy colour in her cheeks.

He examined their bandaged wounds. The bruises were gone. The scars were faint, nearly invisible.

They were almost healed completely, there was no need for further bandaging.

So he checked their pulse what surprised him wasn't their physical recovery—it was the spiritual energy lingering faintly around them.

His mother's spiritual presence was was steady and flowing—stronger than yesterday.

She had broken through to Qi Refining Layer 5.

Not a miracle… but a natural progression that came from her body healing and help of high grade qi refining pills.

His mother noticed his smile. "Fenger, what is it?"

"Nothing," he said softly. "You look better today. And your spiritual energy feels… smoother than before."

Yue Lingxin gave a gentle smile. "For years, my cultivation was stuck at 4th layer. I could never push past that barrier. But somehow, after I used those pills… I felt a surge of spiritual energy inside me and the barrier was broken."

Lin Yuanfeng turned to his father.

His father has always been at Qi Refining Layer 9

There was no breakthrough, but his complexion was definitely better. He checked his father's pulse finds out his meridians had been damaged—almost crippled. It was a miracle he was even alive, let alone still cultivating.

He remembered what his father once told him—about an injury in his youth that damaged his meridians, limiting his cultivation at Qi Refining Layer 9. Yet even without spiritual strength, his father had defended their family for years relying solely on physical strength.

The only reason his parents survived the beast attacks last time was because of his fathers raw physical strength—and the timely help from the Zhang family.

But every time he asked about his father's past, his father would always change the topic.

Just like now.

Seeing his son's expression

Lin Changsheng gave a calm smile. "Your mother is improving. That's good enough."

'His meridian injury… was it really just an accident? There is something he never told us.'

Something flickered in Yuanfeng's eyes—but he didn't ask further.

Some truths reveal themselves when the time is right.

Then he spoke gently, "The carriage to the Inner City will be here at eleven. We should start preparing tell me if you need anything."

Both parents nodded.

He hesitated for a moment, then spoke, "I… want to give our land deed to Grandpa Zhang's family. Are you okay with that?"

His parents exchanged a look, then his father nodded. "We owe them more than land. Do what you feel is right.".

His mother added quietly, "Had they not intervened in time, those beasts would have taken our lives. Such a kindness cannot go unpaid"

Lin Changsheng took out the land deed from his pouch near his bed and gave it to his son with a gentle look.

Lin Yuanfeng nodded firmly and said,

"Then I'll go to grandpa zhang house you guys pack up your things and let me know if you need anything else, we will but them in the market on our way "

and left their room.
