The lord of the sky was actually pretty nice, he even offered them a ride. Kairo had his Observation Haki on at all times.
However, there was a difference between his passive range and his active range.
His range more than quintupled when it switched from passive to active, and if he focused hard, he could get that number to 10x or higher.
A good way to put it: his passive range only covered the ruins and a few feet in the air. That's why Robin could see the shadow of what was falling before he sensed it.
But when he had his active Observation Haki on, he could sense all of Skypiea. All of it.
In video game terms, while he could see the chunks, to save data, some chunks weren't fully loaded and thus were a bit blurrier than others. He knew if he maxed out his Observation Haki, he could see better, but oh well.
His Observation Haki was better than most, being able to see six seconds into the future and all—four seconds if he was actively fighting someone.
He hadn't found a way to close that two-second gap between when he was fighting versus not fighting.
Though he wondered if in his amp state, he could do it. After all, he received a boost similar, if not a bit more potent, than Gear Second Luffy.
Heh, guess he couldn't do much. Until he found someone who could push him, he had no need to use that form.
Though he supposed he could fight the god of this land and see how he fared against him.
Meanwhile with Luffy.
"Gum-Gum... Rifle!" Luffy's punch managed to narrowly miss Satori's face as the plump man dodged out of the way.
A bead of sweat dripped down the man's cheek. Luffy and his crew were separated. Luffy was here alone. Zoro was probably fighting a priest on his own.
Chopper was also there, but oh well.
And Nami and Usopp were left boxing a dumbass guy who sometimes even forgot to see.
As for why they separated...
Flashback.
"Luffy no..." Nami started.
"Let's go into the forest." Luffy had that stupid grin on his face.
"Conis warned us not to go in there, we're not going to go," Nami elaborated.
"Yes, Luffy, listen to Nami. We don't know what's in the forest." Usopp was scared.
"What if there are big giant monsters, and clouds that eat people?" The coward was scared shitless.
"Never cut a cloud before," Zoro said out loud.
Usopp's eyes widened. Really? This is what Zoro was thinking about?
"This is not the point!" Usopp yelled.
"What, are you scared or something?" Sanji mocked.
"Me, scared? I am Captain Usopp, I can beat those beasts in my sleep," Usopp said bravely.
"Oh yeah? Then why are you shaking?" Sanji pressed.
Usopp's legs were shaking like crazy. He was so damn scared, he didn't want to go.
"I am scared for them," he lied through his teeth.
"Sure," Sanji said, not believing him, but whatever floated his boat.
"Zoro, where do you think Kairo is?" Luffy asked. Usopp recognized that gleam in his eyes.
No... oh hell no.
"Since he's investigating, probably in the forest."
"Luffy, don't you dare use this as an excuse—" Too late. Luffy was smiling.
"I am simply trying to find my crewmate. Plus worst case scenario, can't he just teleport us out of harm's way?"
Nami opened her mouth to speak but nothing came out. Luffy's plan... surprisingly made sense. That was a rare thing.
"Luffy doesn't make sense like that..." Usopp muttered in dread.
"Nami, please change his mind," Usopp begged. He didn't want to go there.
"I suppose so," Nami said, siding with Luffy—much to Usopp's growing terror. No. He didn't want to be here. Like sure, he may have collected a bunch of dials, but that was about it. He didn't want to box.
"Since we're all on it, let's go!" Luffy grinned.
"I wanna go home!" Usopp cried.
He turned to Chopper, his last lifeline.
"Please, Chopper, be on my side. Don't give in!"
"I'm sorry, Usopp, but I want to adventure," the reindeer said. And just like that, Usopp felt his soul leave his body.
Everyone in the group wanted to get into the forest.
He passed out then and there, having to be carried by Zoro.
Luffy rushed into the forest and Nami and the others followed.
However... Zoro's sense of direction was ass, Sanji was chasing after panties, Usopp woke up and apparently Zoro had stopped holding him—grabbing a branch thinking it was Usopp—and Chopper followed after Zoro.
So in the 15 seconds they had been in the forest, the group had split up perfectly, each of them ending up inside the territory of one of the priests.
Meaning they each had to box a priest. The pairings were quite fair, and the matches could go either way.
A/N: So the match-ups go:
Luffy vs Satori: Surprise balls + Impact Dial.
Sanji vs Shura: Heat Dial spear + string traps.
Nami and Usopp vs Ohm: Eisen Whip sword + Reject Dial + giant dog.
Zoro and Chopper vs Gedatsu: Swamp clouds + Impact/Jet Dials.
