Anyway, they got through the granny quite easily, even paid the money and all, though Robin did wonder why Kairo set up seals.
"Robin, carry this," he would say, handing her a seal.
She would take it.
"What is it for?" she would question as he passed the seal to Cricket, who also was there.
"Someone in this realm has Observation Haki, allowing him to practically sense everything in Skypea. Those seals, while wearing them, will allow you to bypass his senses. As long as you don't draw too much attention to yourself, it will work," he said calmly.
"Why did you not inform your captain of that guy beforehand?" Cricket would ask, to which Kairo would ponder a bit. The answer to that question was obvious.
"You fear that Luffy would head straight for him," Robin would say as she finished putting on the seal.
Cricket would look at her—ain't no way that this was the reason. Someone couldn't be that headstrong, now could they?
"He would..."
"I assume the info you gave earlier, you did not give everything," she would say, to which he would nod his head.
"I hid some key facts, like the forbidden forest, which I know if Luffy learned about he would really want it... There are roughly 4 priests. From what I heard, they're pretty strong. I've already explained how Dials work, haven't I?"
"Yes, you have," Robin would say, to which he nodded his head.
"Since you're an archaeologist, and you're the descendant of Nolan, we're going to Shandian land. We can see for ourselves if the city of gold truly did exist," Kairo would say calmly.
"And what of the others?"
"They shouldn't cause much trouble..."
"..."
Cricket was confused a bit. Did they deadass not have any hope of their crewmates not getting into trouble for one day? Was it really that bad?
As for Kairo's seal, you see, they kinda just hid you. How could he explain this? Think of it like this: what it does is basically put you in someone's peripheral vision. Like, you can still semi-see them, however, they're so blurry that if you don't focus on them, you won't even notice they were there.
This was how they hid from the man's Observation Haki. It was like—while yes, with Observation Haki you could see if someone was hiding behind a rock, 9 times out of 10, you would ignore that rock and focus on the person. This was kinda what Kairo was doing with his seal.
This was also why they needed to be cautious. While he couldn't "see" them, he could still "see" their surrounding area, so if they caused too much of a ruckus, they would be sensed.
Which is why giving Luffy one wasn't a good idea.
So now they just needed to explore this bitch.
And avoid the fuck out of his priests. They would avoid the priests for a bit—their mission was simple: just find the city of gold. If need be, skedaddle. Nothing else.
While the crew was meeting Conis and her dad, and Sanji may or may not have been trying to get in her panties (cause of course he was—if he wasn't, that wouldn't be Sanji now would it), Zoro was still on the ship, Nami was learning how to ride some shit, and Luffy was eating some food. Some good food, might I add. Some may even call it...divine
As for Kairo's crew, they were in the forest. The role was quite simple—Robin would find some ruins to study, and following her lead, they would arrive at a bunch of ruins. Apparently, she could read them. Good for her. He would just sit nearby and meditate.
He had way better stuff to do right now, like warding off Enel's attempts.
POV change.
Somewhere in a beautifully decorated castle, or whatever that temple was.
Eminen could be seen—oh, I mean Enel. He had ridiculously long ears, and instead of wings like normal Birkan, he had what seemed to be multiple small drums.
He was currently eating an apple. From what he was sensing, it seemed like some people from the Blue Sea were here. And while yes, they paid the toll, Enel frankly didn't care much about that. His mission was almost done anyway.
Though he had this nagging sensation in his chest, like something was wrong, like something was very off.
Like you could see something in your peripheral vision, but when you look back at it, it was gone.
Odd. He ate the whole apple. He wondered what was bothering him so much—it probably wasn't much anyway.
Let's see, from the group of people:
There was an idiot garbling food, a swordsman sleeping in the boat, a raccoon dog jumping on clouds, a coward, a lady riding a boat, and a guy who seemed to get nosebleeds around girls.
Truly, none of them stood a chance against him.
He was Enel, and he was god. And god did not tolerate impertinence.
Oh well, time to kill those bastards—or maybe, play with them a bit more. This would be his month on this place, so might as well.
