Chapter 27 - weird man (27)

Anyway, for the most part the drive there was a bit uneventful, apart from the fact it was cold as balls.

Everyone had a coat... everyone except—

"How the hell are you not cold, it's below freezing?" Usopp would say, looking at Kairo who simply shrugged.

"Breathing exercises, and also, I am a Lunarien. Extreme environments are nothing to us," he would say dryly.

"Race of monsters, geez," Usopp would mutter under his breath. The boy said nothing, just closing his eyes and breathing in.

Taking a deep breath in, before exhaling what seemed to be fire.

As Usopp got close to him—wait, hold up.

He was warm.

He was like a fireplace.

Kairo merely blinked, and suddenly there were way too many dudes next to him. The fuck was this, some kind of glizzy fest?

Well, not like any of that mattered. He still continued his breathing exercises, breathing in deeply and then exhaling flames. His body temperature slightly rose, the ice around him melting.

This exercise was something he was preparing for. He was getting his body used to this intense heat circulating in it slowly, starting with small doses. What he was doing was simple: he was taking in more oxygen and forcing his heart to beat faster, pumping more blood into his bloodstream and burning calories— and I do mean a lot of calories—at the same time.

As to what doing all of that entailed, you see, apart from his plan on using lightning in order to strengthen his reaction time, he was doing this for a whole other reason. And that reason was simple.

A power-up. He was prepping his body for when he eventually released his full power: a mix of the Eight Gates, the breathing technique from Demon Slayer, and Killua's Godspeed from Hunter x Hunter.

Yes, he was mixing a lot of abilities together, but if he was able to do it right, this should give him enough power to at least stand up to an admiral, if only temporarily. And due to oxygen being pumped into his body so fast, his flames should also be burning brighter. He might even create blue flames in this state, and even his durability might receive a boost.

All in all, stuff for later. While he couldn't test it on Crocodile since, well, he was not yet at the level that the boy was at, like sure, he could give a decent fight, a good fight even, but the fact was, Kairo was way faster than him—and that fact alone determined the winner of the battle. As long as he was faster than said opponent and he tagged them, all he had to do was teleport them to a tag he had under the ocean or something, or just use Ryo to blow their back out.

Plus, he was a ninja. He didn't fight fair, so if he fought you let's say on a Tuesday and marked you and escaped, you better sleep with one eye open, 'cause there is nothing stopping him from spinning the block on your ass. Finna be sleep deprived for weeks until you're too weak to even fight back.

So yes, he will sneak attack if need be. Villain having a monologue? And he will.

A strange blue-haired man would jump on the ship, followed by two goons.

"Do you pirates know where Drum Island is?" The one with the messy lips would say.

"Nu-huh," would be Luffy's reply.

They would then point guns at everyone present.

Kairo opened his gaze. Fan-fucking-tastic.

The blue-haired man would then proceed to open his mouth and eat a piece of the ship.

"Since you guys clearly have no info, I will take your ship as payment." The man's voice sounded matter-of-factly like, yeah this is my shit now.

"Get the hell off my ship," Luffy would say, looking angry—I mean, well duh, the man was eating his damn ship.

Sanji, meanwhile, was more weirded out that the man's stomach could handle all of that, like come on, ew.

Kairo would stand up, standing at 15 feet tall, his hand gripping his blade. He would take in a deep breath—time to exp farm on some scrubs.

In one swift motion, he vanished from sight. The next second, every single soldier fell on the floor unconscious, and I do mean every single last one of them. The blue-haired guy was the only one remaining, and at his neck, the boy's sword lay.

"Give me one good reason not to slice your head off."

"If you do it, you clean up the mess. I am not cleaning up your mess," Sanji would say dryly, as if he was more focused on the blood part than the killing part.

This actually had Kairo rethinking his choices.

"How dare you threaten me, you filthy pirates... I am a king!"

And just like that, the man was pushed into the water.

"Help... I can't swim!"

Cool. He didn't care anyway.

"Well the captain's dead, and their ship's empty. Anyone want to see what their supply's looking like?"

"I, Usopp, shall lead the charge into this dangerous domain!"

"Sure."

"Couldn't you have knocked him out, why kill him?"

Vivi would question. He would gaze at her and say:

"I have future sight. If I had left him alive, he would have used his gun and tried to shoot you. And from the look of it and what I sensed from them, their intentions weren't the purest."

Sanji was, for some odd reason, on Vivi's side. Bro, she is not going to let you hit—let it slide. Also, the sheer joy on Luffy's face when he did his sealing jutsu to store huge amounts of supply in a small piece of paper was neat.

Vivi's eyes seemed to widen.

"This ability of yours... can it be taught?" she questioned. He just shrugged.

"Dunno, it's basically just sealing it away in some mini pocket dimension. I can teach you the calligraphy required to use it. Whether you can learn it or not depends on you," he would say, looking at her.
