Chapter 74 87. The Birth of Tang San
In the lower realm where the Tang Sect existed, fate moved once more.
Tang San, who had secretly learned the Tang Sect's forbidden arts, was finally exposed. Branded a traitor, he was chased by his sect brothers to the edge of a cliff.
Cornered and defiant, Tang San chose to end his life "to prove his loyalty." Yet before leaping, he hurled the masterpiece of his craft—the Buddha Rage Tang Lotus—into the sky and detonated it, his final act of brilliance before plunging into the abyss.
(He could have proven his worth by perfecting the sect's ultimate skill, winning their recognition. Instead, he chose a suicide that would scar their conscience forever—forcing the Tang Sect to live in eternal regret for casting him out.)
"Well done… truly the one I chose," a low, resonant voice echoed in the void. "Tang Sect's loss is my gain."
At the moment Tang San's body fell toward death, the God of Shura intercepted his soul, catching it in his divine palm. The soul glowed as a sphere of pure essence, flickering gently in his hand.
"Now that the vessel has been prepared, it's time," Shura murmured as his gaze pierced across planes toward the Douluo Continent. "He shall reincarnate into the new age, bathed in the thousand‑year fortune of this world."
He paused, frowning slightly. "But the Eternal one must not sense this. Fortunately, today the God of Kindness agreed to exchange duties; I now hold authority over the Divine Central Palace."
"Sea God!" he called.
"Lord Shura, I am here," came the respectful reply.
Shura tossed the sphere of light toward him. "Take this soul to the mortal plane. Guide it to possess the newborn child of Tang Hao. I'll remain here to mask the heavens and conceal his rebirth."
"Yes, Lord Shura."
The Sea God caught the shining soul and departed for his temple, while the Shura God turned toward the heart of the divine realm to veil celestial sight.
In the mortal world, Tang Hao grew restless.
Years had passed, yet A Yin's belly remained still. Frustration gnawed at him. This child was supposed to be the continuation of his lineage—the foundation upon which his family would one day rule the Douluo Plane.
At last, last year, A Yin finally showed signs of pregnancy, easing the storm in his heart.
By his calculations, this matched the time when Tang San had been born in the previous timeline. Hope flickered in Tang Hao's eyes once more. My son will be born soon. Everything will return as it should. When he ascends as a god again, I'll guide him to defeat Huo Yuhao. Then, the Tang Family shall reign supreme forever.
That fateful night, amid the roar of thunder and the cries of wind, a single newborn's wail pierced the storm.
Tang San had been reborn.
Tang Hao lifted the infant carefully. At first, complex emotions churned in his chest. The child's innocent face radiated purity—too pure, too real. For a moment, he couldn't tell if this was truly his child, or the otherworldly Tang San reborn within him.
But soon resolve hardened in him. No matter what he once was, he now carries my blood. He is my son.
"Hahaha! My son—my very own son, Tang Hao's flesh and blood!" he proclaimed joyfully, holding the child aloft.
He laid the baby gently in the cradle and looked at the exhausted A Yin. "Come, A Yin. Look—our son."
"Take him away," she whispered weakly, voice cold and distant. "You already got what you wanted, didn't you?"
"A Yin…" he said softly, his smile fading. Even with their child between them, her hatred burned undimmed. Damn you, Tang Xiao—what spell did you cast on her?
He forced a deep sigh. "No matter what you feel… he's still your child." Setting the baby back in the cradle, he turned and left.
But his spiritual sense didn't leave. Watching unseen, he studied A Yin's every motion, hoping to see a flicker of motherly affection.
For a long while she stared at the child in silence. Then, slowly, little Tang San began to cry.
Her face twisted in pain and hatred. She knew Tang Hao's motives; even if she didn't understand his knowledge of destiny, she knew he had wanted this child for some grand scheme. Her entire suffering—her imprisonment, the deaths, her shame—all came because of this birth.
"This monster," she hissed.
Her trembling hand reached toward the infant's neck.
Hidden away, Tang Hao tensed to intervene.
But just then, tiny fingers reached up and brushed her palm.
Something broke inside her. The cold rage melted into anguish.
What am I doing? she thought, tears welling. This isn't his fault. The sins belong to Tang Hao, not him. He's still my flesh, my blood…
She turned away, sobbing silently, unwilling to look at the child again.
Tang Hao relaxed, withdrawing his spirit sense. So, she still feels for him. Good. Everything is proceeding as before.
He clenched his fist. He knew what would come next. In their previous life, soon after Tang San's birth, the Spirit Hall's Title Douluo had discovered them, forcing a battle that led to A Yin's self‑sacrifice.
Back then, he had been a level‑90 Spirit Master who had yet to attach his final ring. Though his intended spirit ring had always been… hers. But how could he personally harm the woman he claimed to love?
Spirit Hall, he murmured inwardly, I'll need you again. You must push us to the edge—force A Yin to the sacrifice. Only through her blood, through the slaughter of your so‑called saints, will I forge my legend as the Haotian Douluo.
He smiled darkly. And only through that sacrifice can she be reborn with a heart that loves me—and only me—completely.
Yet deep down, a shadow of doubt flickered.
Will it still happen the same way? Last time, she loved me willingly. But this life… she hates me. Will she sacrifice herself again?
His gaze lifted toward the ceiling, to the unseen heavens. The Shura God must have arranged everything. I'll trust his plan.
As A Yin and the newborn slept, the skies outside grew restless. Rain poured down, lightning flashing across the horizon.
And in one blinding stroke of thunder, a shadow appeared beyond the window—its form outlined in blue lightning.
