Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: Huo Yuhao — “Where’s My Wang Dong? My Entire Wang Dong?!”

Chapter 22: Huo Yuhao — "Where's My Wang Dong? My Entire Wang Dong?!"

"Wait… you're that Ye Chen from Class Nine?! The Soul Sect Ye Chen?!"

Long San suddenly froze, his wide eyes nearly popping out of his head as the realization hit.

Never in his wildest dreams did he think that his own roommate would turn out to be the freshman king who had shaken the entire outer court.

"That's right," Ye Chen said with a friendly smile. "But I actually came to ask you for a small favor."

"Hahaha! Brother, if you need anything, just say the word! As long as I, Long San, can do it, I won't refuse!" The muscular giant laughed heartily, pounding his chest like a drum.

For him, meeting someone like Ye Chen was already a great honor. If he could do him a favor, that would just be icing on the cake.

At those words, Ye Chen finally relaxed a little. "It's like this—I'm not in the same dorm as my friend Wang Dong. Our martial souls have a… special resonance. When we cultivate together, it greatly boosts our efficiency. I wanted to ask if you'd be willing to switch dorms with him."

"You and your roommate…"

Long San turned his gaze toward Wang Dong for the first time.

He didn't recognize the name, but after taking a good look, he nearly frowned. Wang Dong's skin was way too fair, face too pretty, features too delicate.

In his eyes, that was basically just another pampered pretty boy—a nancun (girly boy).

And then it suddenly struck him. His eyes darted back and forth between Ye Chen and Wang Dong, suspicion dawning.

"Hold up, Long San, don't misunderstand! I only mean our martial souls match! That's all!" Ye Chen said quickly, his face darkening.

He did not like men. Pretty or not. He preferred the soft, sweet-smelling kind of girl.

Damn it. This was all Wang Dong's fault.

Who told her to disguise herself like that? Now everyone thought he was… that kind of guy!

"Relax, brother, I get it, I get it~" Long San said knowingly, giving him a very I understand completely look.

Then he turned to Wang Dong. "Hand me your key. We'll switch right now."

Privately, though, Long San couldn't help feeling a bit sorry. Such a waste of good looks… if only—

"Oh… okay," Wang Dong said, blinking in confusion.

He had no idea what that weird look meant or why Ye Chen looked so irritated all of a sudden.

But as long as Long San agreed to switch, nothing else mattered.

Now he could "cultivate" with Ye Chen every day.

That tenfold increase in speed made the deal feel like a dream come true.

Thanks to their storage-type soul guides and the fact that their dorms were right across from each other, the two finished the swap in under five minutes.

Still, out of politeness, Wang Dong paid Long San 500 gold soul coins as compensation.

While the rules technically discouraged switching dorms, there was no actual penalty, making it more like a suggestion than an order.

And since dorm keys weren't magically bound to student badges, as long as there were no reports, the dorm supervisors wouldn't notice anything.

With a thousand new students on record, it wasn't like they could memorize who roomed where anyway.

And Huo Yuhao—stubborn as he was—wasn't the type to go running to tattle.

Once the room swap was done, Wang Dong pulled out a perfume bottle and began spraying everything.

"Hey, Wang Dong, you're a guy—why are you spraying perfume?" Ye Chen asked blankly.

"Hmph, you don't get it. It's deodorizer! The person who lived here before stank! I can't stand smelly places."

He puffed his chest proudly and kept spraying, swaying his hips while circling the room.

Ye Chen couldn't help noticing his… posture.

Smooth, delicate movement. Definitely not masculine.

Wang Dong picked the newer bed for himself, leaving Ye Chen with Long San's old one. But Ye Chen didn't care—he wiped it down, laid out his own bedding from his storage space, and flopped onto it comfortably.

After all, dorms in this world were simple—just a table, two chairs, two beds, and drafty windows. Pretty standard.

There were no electronics, no new-age entertainment—rooms were for sleeping and cultivating. Nothing else.

Eventually, Wang Dong finished his "cleaning," filling the air with faint floral freshness. The difference was night and day—the musky stench was gone, replaced by a subtle sweetness that made the space oddly pleasant.

Ye Chen had to admit—Wang Dong did have taste.

"Ye Chen, are you done resting? When can we cultivate together tonight~?"

Wang Dong appeared beside his bed, eyes wide and shining with expectation.

Clearly, the accelerated training speed had left him addicted.

"I already told you—it's extremely draining. We'll do it tonight," Ye Chen sighed, shaking his head.

He was lying, of course.

The more easily obtained something was, the less value it held.

By making it seem like his secret technique was costly and burdensome, Ye Chen ensured that Wang Dong would remain grateful and eager—perfect conditions to build trust and deepen their "bond."

He understood Wang Dong's psychology perfectly.

This was like a player discovering a game-breaking cheat code. Use it too freely, and the excitement vanished.

But if it came with cooldowns and limits, the anticipation made it even more engaging.

Wang Dong was the same. Eager to find ways—gifts, treasures, maybe even favors—to help "reduce" Ye Chen's recovery time.

"…Okay," Wang Dong said reluctantly, clearly itching with impatience.

"Good. I've got something to do this afternoon. I'll be back tonight," Ye Chen said with a casual wave before heading out.

The hook was set—and nice and deep.

No need to rush. He still had dinner plans with Wu Feng and Ning Tian anyway.

That evening.

Huo Yuhao hummed softly, counting the heavy bag of gold coins in his hands, a satisfied grin on his face.

Making money was just too rewarding.

Still, in his other hand, he carried two skewers of grilled fish. They were for Wang Dong.

Despite the constant bickering, he genuinely liked his roommate. Wang Dong was prideful but cheerful, bright, and… somehow endearing.

"Wang Dong, I'm back~!"

He unlocked the door cheerfully, then froze completely.

The room was different.

Gone was the pink bedding, the tidy shelves, the faint floral scent.

Instead, he was greeted by the sight of a muscular, shirtless mountain of a man sitting on Wang Dong's bed.

"W-Who are you?! This is my and Wang Dong's dorm! Why are you here on his bed?!"

Huo Yuhao's brow furrowed instantly as dread crept in.

"Oh, that kid?" the man said casually. "He swapped dorms with me. Moved in with another guy. I'm your new roommate now."

Long San said it with ease, though his expression hinted at something else.

And as Huo Yuhao stood there, stunned and heartbroken, Long San's gaze flickered with quiet amusement.

Of course those two pretty boys hit it off.

Someone like Huo Yuhao? Too plain. Too simple. No wonder Wang Dong had no interest.

Huo Yuhao stared blankly for a moment, still processing the information, before murmuring softly to himself—

"My Wang Dong… where's my Wang Dong…? Such a big, beautiful Wang Dong… gone?!"
