Yep.
As I expected, I soon received another scolding of my lifetime.
Claire definitely didn't take my 'suicidal' and 'stupid' idea kindly.
I was instantly shut down and bullied into admitting that I won't mention it again.
After which she said to behave and study for my universities, focusing on 'non-dangerous' things.
So throwing me on bed and putting my books and study material on my lap, Claire left saying that she will be back by tonight, and not to worry too much as she will not try to tackle any higher floors.
I could only nod and tell her to be careful, obediently watching her leave.
After she was gone, I grinned and jumped out of bed, my sad expression vanishing as I pulled my hoodie and socks out of the closet.
"There's no way I'm staying in my room with a new world to explore out there, dumbass."
I scoff, wearing my socks and leaving the house after waiting 5-10 minutes as a safety measure.
But the moment I swung open the door, a shiver passed through my body and I instantly shut it.
It was too fucking cold!
Maybe I underestimated the weather too much, since the apartment was very cozy and warm, thanks to a heater that was installed. God knows where.
I had watched Claire leaving wearing a simple jacket and jeans top, so I assumed that it would be manageable out there.
But maybe her stats were too high to be worried about mere weather, or she had another way to counter the cold.
Whatever it was, I definitely needed more layers to go out there.
Thus, I had to put on some thermal innerwears and sweaters before walking out while scrolling my phone.
I wrote a text to myself, noting down the door's passcode that I had seen Claire enter earlier.
Haah~ So fucking cold.
I exhaled, watching my breath freeze and drift into a cloud of white fog.
But the view was worth it.
Our apartment was in a 6 storey tall building, which was built very open and airy, keeping the natural beauty of Snombi in plain sight.
It was a gorgeous city, covered in a thin sheet of white snow, with paved roads crisscrossing in distance, tall skyscrapers erected every once in a while.
The people were appearing as small as ants, as our apartment was on the 6th floor.
It was hard to put a finger on how this world was too different from Earth.
It looked quite similar at the first sight, though it naturally wasn't.
The air was much more fresh and pure, filled with pure energy.
The sky was inked in royal blue, where white, peaceful clouds were floating gently.
Words could never explain the sight, but maybe images could, as I pulled out my phone and clicked some scenic pictures of the view.
(A/N: I tried finding some pictures online, they're in the paragraph comments.)
Feeling satisfied, I smiled as I waited for an elevator to come.
I had learned quite a lot about geography and the world on the internet.
Keeping true to the fantasy elements as I hoped, there sure were the beastmen in this world.
But unlike the trope, they definitely weren't the slave material here.
Even if we disregard the fact that beastmen were born much stronger than we humans, slavery wasn't even legal.
There were also elves and other races like vampires and monster species like goblins and orcs.
But they all were at peace with each other, with minor enmity obviously being present.
Most of the different races had their own continents to live in, so that there was not much reason to fight.
The only continent that featured a diverse population was obviously the central, which ran on strict rules that allowed a decently peaceful life there.
But curse my luck, I wasn't in the central continent, but in a human continent, the northern continent.
Our nearest continents were naturally north-eastern and north-western, which had beastmen and a unique race known as Forzulin.
But they both were too rare to be seen near Snombi.
Thus, I had little to no chance of encountering any of the fantasy races yet.
Finally getting on the elevator, I clicked on the G button.
It was empty.
So regretfully, no cliche elevator encounter for me.
But it wasn't that bad a thing as it allowed me to surf the internet more and learn more about the system this time.
It was a topic I didn't explore properly as I was more worried about keeping up my disguise.
Apparently, every human is classless till the age of 18, which isn't to say that they cannot hunt or level up, they simply don't have a class.
After the age of 18, humans can gain various classes based on their habits, thoughts, actions and many other factors.
So it could be said that my past owner had been a little submissive bitch to women ever since he was 18, or maybe even before that.
But there was nothing I could do.
It sucked. Sucked real bad.
Especially after learning that once the classes are given, they cannot be changed…
Sure, levelling up and powering up can cause them to evolve… but that's it.
It will evolve.
Maybe from a Boy toy mine can evolve into a Man toy, or maybe a boy friend, or whatever the shit it would be.
But it cannot be a cool, savage class that could make me a lord or let me rise to power.
Most of my excitement had eroded by the time I reached the ground floor, walking out as if I had seen a ghost inside, I felt gloomy.
My dreams were mercilessly being crushed.
Still, something was better than nothing… right?
I learnt that levelling up to every checkpoint can trigger a three way choice.
One was an all rounded stat boost. Second was a choice of a new skill. And lastly, a random item tied to the class.
And I was in luck, as I was just level 3, and there was a checkpoint pretty close by, which was level 5.
My class could also evolve at level 25, which might not be too exciting, but it was something at least.
Thus, I managed to boost my morale a little.
I had found a new, short-term goal.
Reach level 5.
So fuck what my dear Claire said.
Labyrinth, here I come.
