Chapter 74 - Chapter 74: Severed Arm

Chapter 74: Severed Arm

"Tang San's father is Tang Hao—the Haotian Douluo, the man who killed the former Pope," Luo Ling said quietly.

Ning Rongrong's eyes widened in shock as she turned her gaze toward Tang San, who was still fighting in the arena.

"He's really the son of Haotian Douluo? But his spirit is…" she murmured, disbelief coloring her tone.

"He's like me," Luo Ling said calmly, looking faintly at Tang San. "He possesses twin martial souls."

Ning Rongrong's lips parted slightly, but no words came out. Tang San had never impressed her much—he lacked the overwhelming dominance that defined Luo Ling.

After seeing Luo Ling's monstrous talent for three years in Spirit Hall, Tang San seemed unmistakably… ordinary.

"So, I need you to keep an eye on him while I'm gone," Luo Ling added.

Ning Rongrong blinked and then smirked mischievously. "Alright, I'll watch him for you—but you'll have to make it up to me."

Her expression was playful, full of cunning energy like a little witch scheming for mischief.

Luo Ling was taken aback before sighing in defeat. "What do you want?"

"I haven't decided yet," she said, pouting, a faint blush warming her cheeks under the arena's soft light.

As they spoke, the Shrek team finished their matches.

Xiao Wu and Zhu Zhuqing stood together, while the boys walked over to where Luo Ling and Ning Rongrong sat.

"Where's the Headmaster?" Tang San asked.

Dai Mubai shrugged. "No idea. He told us to head back on our own."

With that, everyone began to leave. Luo Ling and Ning Rongrong also stood and made their way toward the exit.

"You guys go on ahead," Ma Hongjun said suddenly, grinning. "I'm heading to the Headmaster's shop!"

"Take it easy," Dai Mubai replied with a smirk.

"Boss Dai, you coming?"

"No. Now get lost," Dai Mubai muttered, glancing warily at Zhu Zhuqing.

But Ma Hongjun, clueless as ever, laughed. "Come on! Didn't you always say women aren't people but resources?"

The words hit like lightning.

Every woman present turned to glare at Dai Mubai, eyes blazing with pure hostility.

Even Tang San looked awkwardly away, embarrassed to be standing next to him. Who says that out loud?

"Women are resources? Please," Ning Rongrong snapped, "Looks to me like some people breathing here are the real waste of resources!"

The air froze.

Dai Mubai's face twitched between red and white. Fury built up inside him—how could someone as arrogant as the proud White Tiger stand being humiliated like this?

"Ning Rongrong," he snarled, "don't test my patience. If you make me angry, I won't mind killing you after I—"

His voice cut off abruptly.

A blur of motion struck him across the face, sending him flying backward like a rag doll.

Luo Ling stood where Dai Mubai had been, lowering his arm, expression cold and calm.

"Did your family never teach you how to speak?" he said lightly. "Or do you just enjoy spewing filth?"

No one else even saw him move.

Dai Mubai lay sprawled on the ground, stunned. Then pain flashed across his face as anger twisted his features.

He rose slowly, glaring at Luo Ling—and then at Zhu Zhuqing, who stood behind him.

Zhu Zhuqing's cold gaze pierced him like a blade. "You disgust me."

"You're dead!" Dai Mubai roared, completely losing control. Days of jealousy and humiliation—seeing Zhu Zhuqing always by Luo Ling's side—finally consumed him.

In the blink of an eye, he released his martial soul. Three spirit rings flared around him as his roar filled the air.

White Tiger Body Enhancement!

White Tiger Shield!

White Tiger Light Wave!

All three spirit skills detonated at once. His body swelled, muscles blazing gold, and a blazing beam of light burst from his jaws, aimed straight for Luo Ling.

"Boss Dai!"

"Brother Ling!"

The others shouted in shock.

None of them expected him to go all out in a moment of rage.

Zhu Zhuqing's eyes widened in horror, and even Xiao Wu clenched her fists nervously.

Luo Ling didn't bother moving. He raised his black scythe, his face utterly calm.

Too weak.

With a single sweeping motion, the scythe cut the light wave in half.

"I told you," his voice came—low, cold, unflinching—"if you ever strike at me again, I'll kill you."

In the next second, he vanished.

Reappearing before Dai Mubai, the Shadow Scythe sliced cleanly across his chest.

His protective shield shattered instantly, and he was thrown backward, crashing heavily into the ground. A deep, blackened wound marred his torso.

Gritting his teeth, Dai Mubai forced himself to stand, tapping into his spirit power to remain conscious. He turned toward Zhu Zhuqing and shouted,

"Zhu Zhuqing, help me! Don't forget who you are!"

"You're my fiancée!"

Zhu Zhuqing's eyes trembled—but before she could speak, Luo Ling's voice cut through the air.

"Do you even deserve to say that?"

"You want her help? Then what about you?"

"Who abandoned her first?"

"Who ran away to Soto City, while she risked everything to find you?"

Each word hit like a hammer on Zhu Zhuqing's heart.

This is the man I came all this way for? she thought bitterly.

Her gaze hardened, clarity washing over her. A coward like this isn't worth my future.

"Bitch! Even if I die, you'll never defeat your sister!" Dai Mubai yelled, his fury uncontrollable.

The next instant, darkness flashed.

Luo Ling's scythe cut through the air, severing Dai Mubai's right arm cleanly.

The limb spun several times before hitting the ground with a dull thud.

"Whatever rules your Star Luo Empire has—they don't apply here," Luo Ling said coldly, stepping forward. "I think your emperor will gladly give my Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan face."

He advanced slowly, the black mist coiling around his scythe like smoke. There wasn't an ounce of hesitation in him—killing Dai Mubai would mean nothing.

A useless prince's life wouldn't shake a nation.

Dark energy flooded the weapon, and fear finally appeared on Dai Mubai's face.

The others froze in shock—none of them expected Luo Ling to truly move in for the kill.

Oscar and Ma Hongjun gaped, trembling. They wanted to stop him—but neither dared step forward.

Tang San hesitated only a moment before staying put. He'd only just joined Shrek; Dai Mubai's fate wasn't his concern. Interfering now would only bring trouble.

Dark light gathered fully along the scythe's edge. Luo Ling raised it slowly—and brought it down.

The black arc screamed through the night toward Dai Mubai.

The wounded prince barely managed to look up, terror etched into his face. His body wouldn't obey him; escape was impossible.

"Stop!"

A roar boomed across the square as a figure appeared in a blur, intercepting the blow.

The scythe met resistance, sparks of darkness scattering in the air.
