Chapter 36: The Icefire Yin Yang Well

Three days later.

Ruo Ling arrived at the Sunset Forest accompanied by Bibi Dong and Chrysanthemum Douluo.

"Xiao Ling, are you sure there are immortal herbs in this forest?" Bibi Dong asked, still skeptical.

The Sunset Forest was one of the Heaven Dou Empire's well-known spirit beast habitats, but no one had ever mentioned it containing immortal herbs.

"Don't worry, Teacher!" Ruo Ling replied confidently.

He recalled the description from the original story—the Icefire Yin Yang Well, a place that was both volcano and glacier in one, guarded by the Jade Phosphor Serpent Emperor Flower.

Thinking of this, Ruo Ling turned to Bibi Dong. "Teacher, could you search for an area in the Sunset Forest covered by a poisonous mist?"

"Poisonous mist?" Bibi Dong blinked, then looked toward Chrysanthemum Douluo.

Chrysanthemum Douluo nodded and vanished in an instant.

Bibi Dong didn't remain idle either—she swept Ruo Ling into her arms and took to the sky.

Pressed against her warmth and the faint fragrance that surrounded her, Ruo Ling's heartbeat quickened slightly.

What an amazing figure… he muttered inwardly, though his face remained calm.

Bibi Dong, flying steadily, stole a glance at him. Her cheeks flushed faintly.

Ruo Ling was already ten years old, his height nearly reaching hers—a proper young man now.

Ever since giving birth to Qian Renxue, this was the closest she had ever been to a man.

No wonder she felt so uneasy.

The two flew in silence for nearly two hours before Ruo Ling finally spotted a sheer cliff shrouded in thick poison fog.

The surrounding land was barren and blackened, littered with bones both human and beast.

"Teacher, stop here!" Ruo Ling said suddenly, eyes bright.

"What is it, Xiao Ling?" Bibi Dong asked, halting midair.

He pointed toward the fog-covered cliffs. "Teacher, look there."

Bibi Dong followed his gaze—dense mists coiled around the cliffside like a ghostly veil.

"Teacher, look closely. The area is covered in poisonous fog, and not a single sign of life grows below it. Why do you think that is?"

She focused on the mist for a long moment, even probing it with her soul power.

The instant her energy touched it, her expression sharpened.

"It's poisonous!"

"Exactly," Ruo Ling nodded.

The Icefire Yin Yang Well was guarded by deadly toxins from the Jade Phosphor Serpent Emperor Flower. No plant or beast could survive nearby. This matched the description perfectly.

"So, you think the immortal herbs are inside that fog?" Bibi Dong asked.

"Only one way to find out," Ruo Ling replied with a faint smile.

"But this poison isn't ordinary," she said with a frown. From her earlier sensing alone, she could tell—even a Titled Douluo would struggle here if they weren't adept at handling venom.

"Teacher, a little poison like this won't stop me," Ruo Ling said lightly, summoning the Crow Shadow Puppet and entering his martial spirit fusion state.

"You have a way through?" Bibi Dong asked, confused.

"Did you forget my first soul skill—Phantom Concealment?"

"That invisibility technique?"

Ruo Ling froze for a second before realizing she had misunderstood.

He had never told anyone about the skill's hidden effects.

It was more of a survival ability than a combat one, so he rarely used it during sparring or practice.

Scratching his head, he smiled wryly. "Ah… I must've forgotten to mention that, Teacher."

"My Phantom Concealment doesn't just make me invisible—it also grants complete immunity to physical attacks or contact."

"What?" Bibi Dong exclaimed.

"And if I'm in a fusion state, its effect strengthens further—I can turn fully incorporeal," he continued.

"Incorporeal?"

"Yes," Ruo Ling nodded, "immune to everything."

"Invincibility?"

"Pretty much."

Bibi Dong could only stare. "You little brat—how many secrets are you hiding from me?" she said sharply, twisting his cheek with her fingers.

"I… don't think there are any left," Ruo Ling said, wincing.

"'Don't think'?" she repeated, tightening her grip.

"Alright, alright! None left, I promise!" he squeaked.

"Hmph!" she released him with a pout, though her curiosity lingered.

"Teacher, shall we go in now? I'm guessing you can handle this poison mist?" Ruo Ling asked with a grin.

"This little fog? You underestimate your teacher." Bibi Dong smirked.

Together, they stepped into the toxic haze.

As Ruo Ling's body faded out of sight, Bibi Dong suddenly felt a pang of anxiety.

"Xiao Ling, are you still there?"

"I'm here," his calm voice echoed beside her.

Relieved, she said softly, "Stay close. It might be dangerous."

Through the mist, Ruo Ling watched her anxious face, his gaze soft.

He was currently incorporeal—nothing could touch him.

But her worry was genuine.

"What a foolish woman," he thought quietly. "A woman like her would give everything for the one she loves."

It was a shame her love had been wasted on scum like Yu Xiaogang and a despicable teacher like Qian Xunji.

Their conversation continued lightly as they walked, and soon, they broke through the fog.

The moment Bibi Dong stepped forward, a wave of both burning heat and biting cold washed over them.

Ahead lay a brilliant two-colored spring—red and blue waters intertwined in perfect balance, yet never blending.

The surrounding terrain shimmered in hues of frost and fire.

The Icefire Yin Yang Well.

Ruo Ling's eyes gleamed fiercely. He had finally found it—before Tang San ever could.

Tang San, the herbs here belong to me!

He dispelled his Phantom Concealment and appeared beside Bibi Dong.

"Xiao Ling, are these the immortal herbs you spoke of?"

Bibi Dong's eyes widened. She hadn't truly believed him before, but the sight before her was breathtaking.

"Yes, Teacher," Ruo Ling said, smiling. "This is the place!"

"Who dares trespass into my herb garden?!"

A furious voice roared across the clearing.

From behind a massive boulder, an elderly man with dark green hair emerged, glaring at them venomously.

His sharp eyes landed on Ruo Ling, then shifted to Bibi Dong—and his face changed instantly.

"You… you're Bibi Dong, the Pope of Spirit Hall?" he stammered.

Bibi Dong frowned. "And you must be that old poison—Dugu Bo?"
