Chapter 61: Mission Complete — Luo Han Dies!
These four bastards aren't giving us a single opening! Luo Han thought anxiously, watching as Zephyr and the three CP0 agents locked onto him and Cole from 20 meters in the air.
Originally, Luo Han had planned to fly higher with Cole , using the clouds for cover and escape. But the four had reversed the situation, aiming every attack to knock them down into the sea instead.
Both Luo Han and Cole were Devil Fruit users—if they fell into the sea without being fully enveloped by psychokinesis in time, it would be over.
Huff… huff… Cole 's breathing grew heavy.
"Brother Han… how are you holding up?" Cole asked between breaths.
"Almost ready. We're going to break out—stay close, Cole ," Luo Han said as he glanced at the three CP0 agents with a serious look.
You've all bought it, haven't you? Just one more move and the illusion will be complete. Luo Han's eyes gleamed.
"What exactly are you trying to confirm?" Zephyr asked the tear-mask CP0 agent, his face grim. "We've already lost too many Marines."
The tear-mask agent glanced at Zephyr and replied casually, "We've mostly confirmed it. But we need one last strike to be sure."
He looked out over the black sea and the pouring rain, then turned back to Luo Han and Cole .
"This time, we drive them into the sea—and it's over."
"Good. No more stalling," Zephyr said, eyes turning fierce. The Marine forces were on the brink of collapse. Numbers didn't matter anymore—these pirates were handpicked under Whitebeard, strong enough to take on hundreds. Over a dozen of them had rear admiral-level strength.
That's why Zephyr was desperate to end this and return to support the other battlefield.
"Go!" The four moved in unison, launching themselves at Luo Han and Cole .
This is it, Luo Han thought, eyes cold. Whether we succeed or not—all comes down to this moment.
Clang! Cole punched at the tear-mask agent, then quickly turned to block Zephyr with an elbow.
Meanwhile, Luo Han's psychokinesis entangled the other two CP0 agents, keeping them from reaching Cole .
Without lingering, Luo Han and Cole used the opening to soar upward, trying to break free of the encirclement.
Clang! But the tear-mask agent had already appeared above them. His descending axe kick crashed into Cole 's right arm with the force of splitting the sea.
They were stopped mid-ascent!
Whoosh! Luo Han pulled Cole back with psychokinesis just in time to dodge Zephyr's punch from the left.
Clang! Clang! Two Rankyaku slashes struck Cole 's back—they didn't fully miss. Thankfully, Luo Han's psychokinesis absorbed part of the blow, preventing major injuries.
But the delay allowed the four to surround them again.
Zephyr and the tear-mask agent immediately struck from above, both targeting Cole 's head with heavy punches.
At the same time, the other two CP0 agents closed in on Luo Han. One launched a flying Shigan toward him.
Under attack from all sides, Cole crossed his arms to block the strikes, while Luo Han reinforced Cole 's defense with psychokinesis and spun to dodge the other attacks.
Clang! Clang! Despite everything, Cole couldn't withstand the double impact from Zephyr and the CP0 agent. He was smashed downward toward the sea.
No! Luo Han's face paled. He quickly used his psychokinesis to stop Cole 's fall.
But in that instant, he failed to notice the two CP0 agents coming at him.
Whoosh! They closed in almost simultaneously—boom! crack! One shattered Luo Han's psychokinetic barrier with a punch, and the other landed a heavy blow to the left side of his face.
They executed the perfect one-two combo in a blink.
Splash! Luo Han was slammed into the sea, creating a huge splash.
"BROTHER HAN!!!" Cole roared in anguish, his eyes consumed by fury.
He dove after him—splash!—a second wave burst up as Cole hit the water.
The three CP0 agents and Zephyr didn't follow. The tear-mask agent turned to the one who landed the punch on Luo Han.
"Well?"
"Weak. If it weren't for that invisible field, I would've blown his head clean off," the CP0 agent replied flatly. Then added, "Even so, I felt the bones in his face shatter from that punch."
The tear-mask agent gazed down at the pitch-black ocean. After a moment of thought, he said, "It's definitely not that legendary Devil Fruit."
"If it's confirmed, then let's go," he said, turning to leave. He made no move to retrieve Luo Han's body—he was convinced Luo Han and Cole were dead.
"Wait—weren't we supposed to take down Whitebeard and Golden Lion too?" Zephyr called out, frowning as the CP0 agents prepared to depart.
The tear-mask agent looked back with a cold, emotionless voice. "Our mission is complete. The rest is your Navy's responsibility."
With that, he took off with Moonwalk, returning to the warship.
"You…!" Zephyr could only grit his teeth. In the end, he let it go.
He didn't return to the ship, but instead flew toward Whitebeard and Golden Lion's battlefield.
Over on Whitebeard's side, both he and Golden Lion fell silent after watching Luo Han and Cole plunge into the sea.
So it ends like this? Even though they were on opposing sides, to see two kids die like that…
Garp, too, felt a strange heaviness. Luo Han and Cole had only recently joined the Rocks Pirates. They hadn't done anything terrible. And based on how Whitebeard had treated them, it was clear they were good, upright kids.
What a shame… Garp sighed.
"GARP! You bastard…!" Whitebeard growled, his tone trembling with fury.
"This is reality, Whitebeard," Garp said grimly.
His body tensed, covered in Haki, ready to go all out.
Whitebeard clenched his fists—
"Wait, Newgate. Luo Han and Cole are gone. We should retreat. There's no point in continuing to fight Garp and the others," Golden Lion said, stepping forward to stop him. Then he turned to Garp and Sengoku.
"Your soldiers have suffered heavy losses. So have ours. Let's leave it here. What do you say, Sengoku? Garp?"
"No objections. It ends here," Garp said before Sengoku could speak, agreeing to the truce.
He pulled Sengoku with him and used Moonwalk to fly toward the approaching Zephyr.
"GOLDEN LION!! I—" Whitebeard turned, shouting with fury, but suddenly froze mid-sentence.
His eyes lit up for a moment.
Without another word, he went back to the ship.
Golden Lion was surprised by the sudden change, but didn't question it. He followed.
Back on board, the ships began sailing away from the battlefield. The Green Cross Pirates followed behind them.
The Marines didn't stop them. Both sides, as if by mutual agreement, left the area.
Amid the crashing waves, Whitebeard's fleet slowly faded into the distance. The crew aboard remained silent—not just because Luo Han and Cole were gone, but because many others hadn't returned either.
Even that annoying pirate Jack—the one who kept getting smacked by the chef—had perished in the sea.
