Lara's POV
The afternoon sun cast long shadows across our territory when Beta Carl and Gamma Colter finally returned from their scouting mission. Both men looked like they had wrestled with the wilderness itself, their clothes stained with dirt and sweat, grass clinging to their hair. Despite their disheveled appearance, they assured me the designated area had been adequately prepared for tonight's gathering.
What caught my attention was the tension radiating from both of them whenever Gamma Tony's name came up in conversation. Their displeasure was written clearly across their faces, though they tried to mask it with professional courtesy. I made a mental note to discuss our assessment plan for Tony with Joseph later. Something was definitely off about that man.
