My mother's voice cuts through the haze of passion like a blade. "Austin, sweetheart, can you please step away from Lara so we can finish our conversation. Then you two can continue where you left off."
Heat floods my face as I realize I've been completely lost in my mate's kiss, forgetting we're standing in the middle of the pack hospital. I force myself to pull back from Lara, whose cheeks are now blazing crimson.
"Sorry, Luna," Lara whispers, her voice barely audible.
Mom's laugh is warm and knowing. "Never apologize for loving your mate, especially when that mate happens to be my son. Trust me, I'm well acquainted with the intense passion that runs in the Murphy bloodline."
My chuckle mingles with Lara's deeper blush, and I can feel her embarrassment radiating through our bond.
