Chapter 28 - Chapter 28 : Fugaku is the clan head. His orders must be followed."

A figure hurriedly ran over.

"I accidentally helped too many elderly ladies," Obito muttered, trying to sneak in, but was caught.

"Can't finish helping them all, huh? Stand at the back."

The teacher had no interest in Obito's excuses.

Obito was frequently late....even on registration day, he managed to be tardy.

"Uh… really?" Obito scratched the back of his head.

Raizen watched him.

Pre-corruption Obito genuinely enjoyed helping the elderly.

He turned to Rin, asking about shuriken throwing techniques.

Looking down, Obito noticed Kakashi's blank expression and Raizen whispering with Rin.

"Go now," the teacher urged.

Obito finally focused and obediently moved back.

"Obito, the next class will be different, so you won't have to stand long."

Walking near Rin, Obito's frustration vanished, replaced by hope.

"Rin really is the best!" he thought, even imagining becoming Hokage, reaching the peak of life, and marrying Rin.

After school.

Back in the Uchiha District, Raizen had barely returned home when someone came for him, leading him to an old, quaint building.

It was Uchiha Hazuki who guided him.

"Yakusen, a D-rank Lightning Release scroll."

Hazuki spoke, dressed in a deep purple Uchiha robe.

The Flame Fan clan symbol adorned her sleeves, and a single teardrop mole decorated her face.

Raizen stood silently behind her.

Hazuki had been sent by Uchiha Fugaku to hand over the scroll.

She was also the future mother of Uchiha Izumi, who had died at Itachi's hands.

Raizen had waited a month for Hazuki.....clear evidence of the Uchiha's indifference.

Without Fugaku's orders, he probably wouldn't have received the scroll at all.

Other Uchiha could obtain one in a few days, but Raizen, being a Kumogakure-born Uchiha, faced discrimination.

"New clan member?"

Uchiha Yakusen peeked out. In his early forties, scars crossed his face, giving a sinister smile.

"Yeah, he's Uchiha Raizen,"

Yakusen grinned, the scars layered unnaturally.

"A mixed-blood from the Land of Lightning? That's rare. From so far away? Even rarer."

Hazuki said nothing, simply signaling Yakusen to fetch the scroll.

Raizen observed the room's interior.

"First time here," Yakusen added, smiling unpleasantly.

He unlocked an iron door at the back, letting sunlight illuminate the otherwise dark room.

Inside, old bookshelves displayed countless scrolls.

"Lightning jutsu is here."

Yakusen picked up a D-rank Lightning Release scroll from a section labeled "雷."

"Can't I choose myself?" Raizen raised an eyebrow, wanting one suited to his style.

Yakusen looked at Hazuki, pausing midair with the scroll.

Hazuki shook her delicate face:

"Fugaku didn't say you could choose. I can't decide."

"Got it, thanks."

Raizen took the scroll quietly.

They left the room; Yakusen locked the door and returned to a bench outside.

"Fugaku is the clan head. His orders must be followed."

As they walked, Hazuki spoke softly:

"I understand, Raizen. This is for your own good. I didn't know which jutsu suited you either."

Raizen smiled.

He didn't mind the slight malice.

"I'll just collect some interest later. Isn't this fair?"

Hazuki was surprised by his understanding smile.

A gentle smile relaxed her brow:

You think like that? You really are a good boy."

Her hand gently rested on Raizen's shoulder, a gesture of comfort for a junior.

She had initially thought a Uchiha from the Land of Lightning would be coarse, so she had delayed this task.

But seeing him today, he seemed honest and straightforward.

Up close, Raizen even carried a faint scent.

Uchiha Hazuki said a few comforting words before departing.

Raizen watched her leave, his eyes flickering.

Hazuki and Uchiha Izumi shared a strong resemblance—the teardrop mole beneath the eyes, the facial features—but Hazuki looked like a mature version of Izumi.

...

Opening the scroll, Raizen saw it was a genjutsu-type Lightning Release named "Lightning Release: Blazing Flash".

For someone with the Sharingan, it seemed almost unnecessary.

Genjutsu's essence is manipulating chakra to infiltrate an opponent's body, disrupting their senses and inducing hallucinations.

It generally falls into three categories:

Visual (e.g., Tsukuyomi)

Auditory (e.g., Sound Lock of Illusions)

Tactile (e.g., Izanami)

The medium for genjutsu just needs to align with one of these.

Lightning Release can act as a medium as well.

The Lightning Release: Lightning Illusion Pillar was one such technique, used by Elite All-Rounder Jonin of Kumogakure.

It turns the user's body into electric light, tricking the opponent into misjudging the source of the attack, thus succumbing to the genjutsu.
