The silence that followed my confession was suffocating.
Darius stared at me. Not blinking. Not moving. Just processing what I'd said. His wolf thrashed through the bond, caught between fury and fear.
"My sister," he said slowly, "has been spying on Katheris."
"Yes."
"And gathering evidence against members of my own council."
"Yes."
"And you've known about this for how long?"
"Since last night."
His jaw clenched. Through the bond, I felt the war happening inside him. Betrayal. Worry. Rage. All of it tangled together until he couldn't separate one emotion from another.
Caleb broke the tension. "Where's the evidence?"
I retrieved my training bag. Pulled out the envelope. Handed it to Darius.
He opened it like it might explode. Spread the papers across the nearest bench. Started reading.
I watched his expression change. Confusion. Shock. Cold fury.
