Darius's younger sister. Sweet, shy Gianna who barely spoke during pack gatherings. Who always seemed to fade into the background while her brother commanded every room he entered.
She stood there in the moonlight, expression unreadable, holding my future in her hands.
"You," I said. Voice barely above a whisper.
"Me." She didn't sound apologetic. Didn't sound scared. Just tired. Like carrying these secrets had worn her down to nothing.
"Does Darius know?"
"That I've been collecting evidence against Katheris? No. That I've been watching Gideon build his little army? Definitely not." She glanced around the gardens. Checking for witnesses. "He thinks I'm the fragile baby sister who needs protecting. It's easier that way."
