Flashback
Soren and I sat in my kitchen, each of us holding a cup of coffee that neither of us actually liked. The smell alone made my stomach twist a little, but right now it felt like the only solution with how much my head was still pounding. The hangover had not been kind to us.
I wasn't a fan of coffee. I never had been. But desperate times called for desperate measures, and at this point I was willing to try anything that might make this headache disappear.
The food we had eaten earlier clearly hadn't worked. We were still hungover—just not as badly as when we first woke up. At least now the room wasn't spinning anymore.
Phoenix and Jamie, on the other hand, seemed to have recovered better than we had. Or maybe they had just given up. They were both asleep in the living room right now, completely knocked out like they had been defeated by life itself.
Lucky bastards.
