"Which of his houses did you go to though?" Soren asked, leaning forward on the couch with a conspiratorial grin. "Is it the Alpha King residence or his house he has in town?"
"The Alpha King residence," I said. Kasteil said he had another house in town, but the other house he took me to wasn't in town. I think that was the Alpha King residence then. With how lonely that place was it only made sense for it to be the alpha king residence.
"For real?" Jamie said, eyes widening. "I've lived here all my life and I have never been in there."
"You can't even walk on the road that leads to it," Soren said. "Guards would come out from nowhere and treat you like a criminal."
Is that why there was no one there? Is that why his house was the only one there? Because people thought they was guards there?
"Guards?" I asked, confused. "There was no one there. No one lives there. It's just his house."
