Chapter 33 - Chapter 367: The Ninja World's Strongest Transporter

[Uchiha Territory]

After Rengoku returned, Miroku hurried over and told him about the situation in the Land of Demons.

"You need to think carefully, this demon is using an open strategy."

Miroku's expression was calm, "Lord Rengoku, I must go back. My people are suffering."

Although she clearly knew this was a trap set by the demon to force her to return, she had no choice but to go back.

Because this was her responsibility; destroying the demon was also her mission.

The demon's lifelong wish was to devour the Miko and merge the two powers.

But his body was sealed; only the Miko could open that seal.

And the Miko, Miroku, was here with the Uchiha. He had tried before and been beaten back, leaving with his teeth knocked out.

There was no other option, you attack to force a rescue: attack towns and villages in the Land of Demons to make the Miko return.

The timing was perfect, because Konoha itself was short-handed and the three great shinobi villages were watching hungrily.

Konoha couldn't aid Miroku.

Rengoku thought for a while: if he sent a few people over, it wouldn't help much.

If he sent strong fighters, the demon would just hide.

Then he'd send the phantom army to crush them.

Shion also came over to see Miroku at this time, "Mother, are we going back to the Land of Demons?"

The chief priest Shinnosuke had already notified Shion (without mentioning Miroku's resurrection). She also knew things were bad in the Land of Demons.

Miroku gently stroked Shion's head, "No. The Land of Demons is too dangerous. You should stay in Konoha, stay by Lord Rengoku's side."

Shion had already graduated from the ninja academy. Although she hadn't received a genin headband or anything, she wasn't oblivious.

Her mother's behavior was clearly the same as back then, entrusting her child to others before going off.

"No, Mother, I don't want to be apart from you!", Shion hugged the mother she had lost and found again. She didn't have deep attachments to the Land of Demons and liked Konoha much more.

She couldn't bear to be separated, even if it was just from her parent.

Miroku knew that after returning she might never see Shion again, and couldn't help but hug her child.

Seeing the two of them in that life-and-death embrace, Rengoku rubbed his cheek helplessly and said, "Isn't there any other possibility? Any other way?"

Miroku looked up, a little stunned.

Shion wriggled out of her mother's arms and her eyes lit up, "Clan Leader! I knew you would have a good idea!"

Rengoku smiled and then asked, "How many people are in your Land of Demons?"

Miroku hesitated a bit. As the Miko, she wasn't that clear on civil statistics.

"Um, counting all the villages, maybe tens of thousands."

Miroku gave a fairly vague number, it was likely inflated.

Rengoku changed his approach, "If you add up the populations of your largest towns, roughly how many people?"

This Miroku could answer, "We have three relatively large towns; together they're under two thousand people."

Rengoku slapped his hands together, "Perfect. Your country is so poor anyway, just move all of them to become our Konoha citizens."

"Huh?", The Miko had never considered that angle and was a bit stunned.

"Move everyone to Konoha?"

Rengoku nodded, "Yes. Look, Hiruzen and his people took over three thousand. If you move your entire population here, Konoha can still accommodate them."

"Konoha Village is much richer than your Land of Demons."

Konoha is located in the Land of Fire, one of the most fertile lands. Konoha is also one of the ninja world's most powerful military groups.

It was no comparison to a rural place like the Land of Demons.

It's like a foreigner telling a tiny rural village that the Flower Country wants to resettle them, how could they not be grateful?

Shion was still a child and didn't think much; she immediately brightened and said, "Yes, Mother! We can move all the people of the Land of Demons here!"

Miroku was also tempted, but having lived many more years she was more cautious.

"Lord Rengoku, but so many people, how would we get them here?"

This was the most practical question.

People from a poor, remote country like the Land of Demons don't have strong patriotic attachment. But still, leaving one's homeland is hard.

The Land of Demons was so poor that only nobles and outposts had electricity; being allowed to settle in Konoha would be a blessing for them.

Coming here wasn't the problem, the problem was how. There were so many people.

From the Land of Demons to Konoha, at minimum you'd have to pass through four small countries.

If ninjas were used, fine; ordinary civilians wouldn't be able to cross easily.

Even disregarding diplomatic issues, without at least three months they couldn't move everyone.

Rengoku smiled, "Perfect, let me introduce you to the ninja world's strongest transporter."

"Miroku, come with me. Shion, wait here for now."

Shion rolled her eyes but, curious, obediently waited.

Rengoku led Miroku to a training ground in the clan territory set aside for this purpose.

A group of orange figures were holding round orbs that kept changing shape.

After many of the orbs exploded, people vanished.

They were the Edo Tensei Minatos training the Rasenshuriken.

The possibilities of Edo Tensei were far greater than Tobirama had imagined.

Not to mention how efficient Minato's countless shadow clones were.

Just the Edo Tensei body itself negated the exhaustion that follows after using shadow clone, the value of Edo Tensei was thus even higher.

"Minato," Rengoku called.

Minato's body stopped and in an instant appeared before Rengoku.

"Let me introduce, this is Miroku, the Miko of the Land of Demons."

"And this is our village's Fourth Hokage, Namikaze Minato."

They bowed to each other.

Miroku immediately noticed that Minato wasn't alive.

Rengoku didn't wait for her question and explained directly, "Yes, Minato is currently dead."

"Right now his chakra recovery is infinite, and he's half a Nine-Tails jinchuriki."

"His Nine-Tails chakra cloak can envelop anyone, and the Flying Thunder God can transport large numbers of people at once."

Miroku was noble-minded and had a strong bond with Rengoku, so Rengoku laid everything out for her.

Although as a national Miko Miroku had some experience, Rengoku's words still surprised her.

'Chakra recovery is infinite?'

'Half of a Nine-Tails jinchuriki?'

Rengoku didn't react to Miroku's shock and turned to Minato.

"Minato, right now the demon Moryo is using the phantom army to make trouble in the Land of Demons, continuously destroying towns to force Miroku to return."

"I plan to relocate all the Land of Demons civilians to Konoha Village. Their nation has about two thousand people, you'll make the trip."

"Two thousand? The Land of Demons?", Minato considered the distance and number.

Rengoku nodded, "Those phantom army stone golems are slow."

"You can transport them in batches. Just get them out of the Land of Demons first."

Minato suddenly brightened. Even for a Nine-Tails jinchuriki, he couldn't teleport tens of thousands at once to Konoha.

But in short-range batches? That was a piece of cake.

"No time to waste. What do you need prepared?"

"Flying Thunder God kunai?"

Minato shook his head slightly, "No need. Those are for repeated combat use. Ordinary kunai will do."

"Good, discuss it among yourselves. I'll have one of my clones go with you."

Rengoku closed his eyes and poured a large amount of chakra into that clone.

The shadow beneath his feet rippled and the clone hid inside Minato's shadow.
