The spirit knew that it would not be able to inform the Elves of what had happened so they could act, because it would certainly be too late.
It sensed the aura of some ritual in front of it, and that ritual was linked to the seed it had seen.
And it realized that even if it informed the Elves now, they would not be able to do anything in time.
That is why...
It made a swift decision.
It decided to sacrifice a part of its soul in order to destroy the seed, rather than letting the Dark Elves use it for their own benefit.
And suddenly...
A terrifying spiritual power erupted from the spirit, covering the entire place.
Everyone's senses halted at the exact same moment.
The leaders stopped...
And the guards stopped...
Even the senior Dark Elf who was holding the seed stopped suddenly, then looked back in shock.
No one understood what was happening.
But everyone thought of one thing:
"It's the spirits of Ajan!"
And before anyone could utter a single word...
A massive light flooded the place.
The light spread rapidly inside the palace, as if it were about to swallow everything in its path.
But a single moment before the light reached the guards, the lords, or the senior Dark Elf...
Darkness suddenly enveloped the seed.
Then...
The seed disappeared.
It disappeared completely, as if it had never existed in the first place.
No one noticed what had happened.
For everything was incredibly fast.
And before the senior Dark Elf could comprehend what was happening...
He, the guards, and the lords were hit by a terrifying explosion resulting from the spiritual power unleashed by the spirit.
The explosion occurred with immense force.
The entire palace shook.
The energy wave spread throughout it, and then parts of the palace collapsed in succession.
And within a few seconds...
The palace was completely destroyed, and the place turned into rubble.
And far away from the palace...
And away from the chaos taking place in the city, and from the lords and senior Elves who were trying to figure out what had happened...
Nott was watching the scene from a dark spot.
Then he let out a mocking laugh.
"Hahaha..."
Things had gone better than he expected.
For the spirit had caused a massive disaster, keeping everyone preoccupied with what had happened.
And quietly...
Nott released a shadow towards Yord.
The shadow reached her, and she understood the message immediately.
They now had to leave the city.
Nott wanted himself, Aul, and Yord to get away from the place before the forces regained control of the situation.
As for inside the collapsed palace...
No one yet knew what had happened.
And no one knew that Nott had exploited everything that had happened from the very beginning for the sake of his plan.
