Chapter 13 - Mangekyou Sharingan

Hearing his answer, Narasha pulled him to her forcefully. "Don't you dare lie to me. How can a human absorb his powers? Explain yourself. This is a serious matter."

"Sorry, my queen, I can't tell you about that. It's a secret. Maybe if you tie me up again, I might tell you." He winked playfully.

"Tch.. forget it." She huffed and avoided Ashan's eyes.

"Then what is the second condition?" Ashan pressed, his curiosity piqued.

Ashan's jaw dropped as he stood before a massive pile of treasures—artifacts, gems, gold, and more glittering under the dim light.

'If a normal man owned this hoard, at least seven generations, including his own, would live in luxury overnight.'

He looked at Narasha.

"So you're saying I need to bring all these with me if I want you to come with me."

Narasha nodded with serious expressions, her red eyes reflecting the wealth.

"Of course. A lot of things here are treasures I protected. I want to take all of them with me."

"Hmm.. in that case.." Ashan touched the treasure pile with a confident grin. In an instant, everything vanished.

"Hey, what did you do to them? Where are they?" Narasha demanded, her eyes widening in alarm.

"Don't worry. I have a space storage. I stored them all there." Ashan reassured her, patting his side.

"But that's a lot. Can every human magic user perform that kind of spell?" She asked, intrigued.

Ashan smiled and shook his head. No, not really. "As I know, they can have a small storage, a limited one. But for me, I don't know whether a limit exists or not."

"Huh.. is that so? Seeing every trick you've shown until now, I'm not surprised." Narasha admitted, a hint of admiration in her tone.

She turned and stepped out of the basement. Ashan followed, grabbing her hand gently.

"What are you doing? Grabbing my hand out of nowhere?" Narasha protested, but her voice lacked real irritation.

Ashan leaned in slightly, a playful curve on his lips.

"Are you still shy?" he teased, tilting his head as if genuinely confused. "Even after everything we've already done together?"

He gently rubbed the back of Narasha's hand, his touch slow and deliberate.

"Come on, don't resist me that much," he murmured, stepping closer until their faces were only inches apart. "I even did everything you asked for."

Narasha said nothing, but she didn't pull away. Seeing that, Ashan felt satisfied.

"Narasha, by the way, do you have decent clothes that I can wear? We need to dress properly, and that way we can avoid being suspicious." He asked, changing the subject.

….

Outside the palace, Nevil stood injured, gripping his sword tightly.

"Damn it. What happened to Ashan? Those blood knights disappeared too."

He punched the air in frustration.

Thud..

His fist was absorbed by the invisible barrier blocking entry to the palace.

"I can't go in because of this barrier. Even if I could, I'm hurt pretty badly. That vampire will kill me like an insect." He muttered, pacing anxiously.

Suddenly, the barrier vanished. The main gate creaked open. Nevil steadied himself. Two figures emerged: Narasha and Ashan, both clad in black, old-fashioned clothes that somehow made them look cooler, more enigmatic.

Nevil was stunned. "Is that Ashan? He's unharmed. How is that possible? Who is that person coming with him?"

As soon as he recognized her, his blood boiled.

'It's the vampire. What did she do to Ashan? Did he get bewitched? Yes, that must be the case. I have to save him.'

Nevil charged at Narasha, sword raised.

"You evil monster, free my friend this instant!"

Ashan quickly intercepted, blocking his path.

"Calm down, Nevil. It's alright. She's no harm."

Nevil halted, puzzled. "No harm? Ashan, Snap out of it. You got bewitched, She's using you."

Ashan stepped closer, grabbing Nevil's shoulders firmly.

"No, I'm not lying. She became an ally. She's on our side now."

"But how? What made her come to our side?" Nevil pressed, suspicion etched on his face.

"You see, I made a contract with her. I can't say what it is, but because of that, we're safe now." Ashan explained vaguely, his eyes pleading for trust.

Even though Nevil found it unbelievable, he decided to trust his friend. He glanced at Narasha with a wary look; she returned it with cold indifference.

"I trust you. I know you'll never lie to me." Nevil relented, sheathing his sword.

Ashan smiled warmly, patting his shoulder.

"Of course, I'll never lie to you. And you know what? We achieved what we wanted. We earned materials that can cover the academy costs. Didn't we?"

Nevil nodded, relief washing over him.

"Yes, it was all because of you. Thanks to you, I managed to live again. And you're safe too. That's enough for me."

The three of them exited the dungeon's final section. A system window popped up before Ashan.

—-----------------------------------------

Congratulations..

You made the vampire queen your ally and cleared the dungeon.

Will you receive rewards?

Y/N

'Yes.' Ashan thought affirmatively.

A sudden, searing pain shot through his eyes.

"AAAHHH..."

Ashan clutched his eyes with his hands, turning away so neither Nevil nor Narasha could see. He removed his hands, blood dripping from his eyes. His pupils turned red, three tomoe appearing. His eyes evolved into a complete Sharingan, then morphed further into a new pattern.

Mangekyou Sharingan!

The moment it awakened, a wave of deathly intent swept through the dungeon, making the atmosphere heavy and oppressive. Narasha's heart raced with unknown fear.

'What was that? Why is my body shaking? Is this his doing?' She thought, her instincts screaming danger.

Ashan extended his arm to Nevil. "Nevil, can you give me your sword for a bit?"

Without questioning, Nevil handed over his sword. Using its reflection, Ashan examined his eyes. They widened in shock—it was the Mangekyou Sharingan.

Overwhelmed with joy, Ashan laughed heartily, puzzling the others.

"What's with that laugh? Did something good happen?" Nevil asked, concerned.

"Hmm.. maybe? I think I got something good." Ashan replied vaguely, wiping the blood from his face. His Sharingan disappeared.

"Blood? Blood is coming out from your eyes. Did you get internal injuries?" Nevil fretted.

"No, don't worry, Nevil. I think it's because I pushed myself a bit harder. I can heal it. Let's go."

Ashan assured, activating Reverse Curse Technique to mend the damage.

Narasha watched suspiciously, peering closely at his eyes.

'Something had surely changed within him. I'm sure about it. It's dangerous. I can feel it.'
