Chapter 3 - C3: The Night Will Vanished

He abandoned the fallen bike without a second thought and tore into the woods, sprinting toward home with sheer terror pushing every step.

He reached the house within minutes—maybe from adrenaline, maybe from fear, or both. His hands shook as he fumbled out the spare key his mom always insisted he carry. The door swung open, and his dog bounded toward him with a happy bark, tail wagging.

Will barely registered it.

He slammed the door shut and locked it—every bolt, every chain—before stumbling backwards, chest heaving. Relief started to loosen his shoulders…

…but it died instantly.

Click.Click.Click.

The locks began to slide undone on their own.

Will's breath hitched, colour draining from his face. He didn't stay long enough to see what came next—he spun and bolted through the back door, sprinting across the yard toward the old storage shed.

Inside, he lunged for the hunting rifle his dad used back when he and Jonathan went on weekend trips. His hands shook as he grabbed the box of bullets, loading the gun as fast as he could.

No hesitation—he lifted the rifle and aimed it dead at the door.

The outside went silent.

No footsteps, breathing. Nothing.

Will held his breath, refusing to blink, the gun trembling in his grip.

Then—A soft sound to his left.

He jerked his head toward it just as the single bulb overhead began to flicker. Once. Twice. Then rapidly strobing the room in frantic pulses of light.

Brighter.Brighter.Brighter—So bright it looked ready to explode—

And then it stopped.

The bulb steadied. The room fell silent. The air stilled.

Everything looked normal again.

Except Will was gone.

🂩 Next Morning 🂩

Jonathan was already in the kitchen, flipping eggs in the pan, when his mother walked in. She looked like she hadn't slept—a mix of exhaustion and worry.

"Mom, breakfast is ready," Jonathan said gently.

"Thank you, Jonathan…" Joyce murmured, rubbing her forehead. Then she blinked and frowned. "Why didn't you call Will? He's going to be late."

Jonathan sighed. "Mom, I'm cooking. Can you just—"

She didn't wait to hear the rest. Something uneasy tugged in her chest. She walked straight down the hallway toward Will's room.

The door creaked open.

The bed was untouched. The window was slightly ajar, Will.

Just an empty, silent room.

Joyce's breath caught in her throat.

🂪 Evan's POV 🂪

I sat at the table, chewing toast while Dad hid behind his newspaper, pretending to be responsible. Mom sat across from me, sipping her coffee with the I'm trying to be awake expression she wore every morning.

Everything was normal.

Until the phone rang.

RING

RING

Mom shot up instantly, more alert than she'd been all morning. She grabbed the phone.

"Bing–Geller residence."

Dad lowered the newspaper just enough to peek over it. I paused mid-bite, watching her face tighten with every word she heard.

"No… he left last night."Yes, I asked Karen."Okay. Don't worry. I'll come pick you up."

Something cold crawled into my stomach. Mom's voice had that tone—the one that meant something was very, very wrong.

She hung up.

I swallowed. "Mom… what happened?"

She didn't answer at first. She didn't have to. The silence itself hurt. Even Dad set down his paper completely, his posture stiffening.

Finally, she spoke.

"Will is missing."

The words hit harder than I expected. For a moment, the room felt distant—the clinking dishes, Dad's sharp inhale, everything fading like someone slowly turning down the volume.

And then—Something clicked in my mind.

Old memories. Not Evan's. Mine.Buried. Foggy. Suddenly snapping back into focus.

Will.

Eleven.

Hawkins Lab.

The Demogorgon.

The entire damn timeline.

How did I forget Stranger Things?

It felt like those memories weren't lost—they were sealed, tucked away behind a wall that had just cracked open.

And now that wall was gone.

Everything was back.

And Will Byers was in danger.

Is Eleven the MC's romantic interest?

As of now, I haven't decided. I wanted to go with Max, but deep down, I don't want to destroy Lumax, and I haven't thought of Eleven. So no. Though if you guys have any suggestions, say it.
