Chapter 33 - Chapter 32. Blood transfusion, awakening and clear goals.

Pain, confusion, bewilderment.

"Damn it…"

Specter's thoughts were like a small boat in a raging storm, helpless against the tearing power of nature.

"What am I… doing…"

As if waking from a nap, Specter fell into a prolonged state of confusion, unable to recall what she was doing.

Her body was completely out of her control; whenever Specter tried to focus her mind and understand what was happening to her, intense pain would erupt from all her limbs.

It was just like… the pain of alcohol being applied to a wound.

Of course, since becoming an Abyssal Hunter, Specter hadn't felt this way in many years.

The immune and self-healing Systems of Abyssal Hunters are terrifyingly strong; unless an arm or leg is missing, most injuries heal automatically, without even needing a doctor.

But now, this healing process was being extended indefinitely.

A liquid substance, never before seen by Abyssal Hunters, was injected into Specter's body. It simultaneously corroded her flesh while being continuously corroded by her blood, forming a delicate balance.

To resist this corrosion, Specter had used up almost all her strength; her body became weak, and her thoughts grew difficult to control.

"Damn it, this is bad, hell."

Finally, she realized the problem: that idiot with seaweed on her head wasn't trying to kill her with this stuff, but merely to weaken her and make her easier to control.

Specter felt angry. In a daze, she felt herself break free from her restraints and gripped her weapon.

The sound of the ocean whispered in her ears, while from the opposite side came the frantic roars of the Seaborn—

She seemed to be rising from the deep sea to the surface, but the light before her grew dimmer and dimmer.

"Damn you—die!"

Specter knew it was time for a massacre—her signal saw told her it was time to go!

"You—shall—not—escape—"

Accompanied by a drawn-out roar, mixed with joy and madness, the Hunter in a nun's habit, wielding her circular saw, charged towards the enemy in her mind.

Buzz—

The sharp circular saw spun at high speed, effortlessly cutting through the burning pulpit as if it were paper. Specter, who moments ago had a gentle smile, now radiated a dark light, a palpable aura.

A weapon-like radiance enveloped Specter, complementing her crimson eyes and her Madness (kuángqì) smile, making her appear exceptionally mad.

The current Specter resembled a character straight out of a horror film; even Leatherface would likely feel greatly inferior.

Boom—

With another clash of metal, accompanied by flying sparks, Skadi once again successfully sent Specter flying.

"She's glowing, her eyes are glowing! Abyssal Hunters and Aegirians never glow."

Although for some unknown reason, Specter's strength was considerably less than that of a typical Abyssal Hunter, and her technique wasn't as elegant as other Abyssal Hunters, Skadi still found it a bit challenging to deal with her.

After all, Goki said Specter could still be saved, so Skadi, while hopeful, dared not use full force. Yet, this mad Hunter named Specter was recklessly trying to kill her.

"We'd better hurry, or Quintus will get away!"

Moreover, besides caring about Specter, Skadi was also very concerned about continuing her pursuit—Abyssal Hunters cannot easily let their prey escape.

The church's windows had long been shattered. At some point, outside, the gloomy sky began to pour down a torrential rain, and raindrops were drawn into the room, intermingling with the blazing fire.

"That, that should be the light of Originium Arts, after all, there's so much Originium solution in her body—don't worry, I'll be ready soon."

Goki pulled out a somewhat rusty syringe, stained with grime and dried blood—a sight that would surely infuriate Kal'tsit enough to make Mon3tr use true damage to scratch herself. He moved away from the aftermath of the two superwomen's battle and plunged the syringe into his thigh.

Soon, accompanied by the trickling sound of blood, Goki's dark-red venous blood was drawn into the thick syringe, then injected into several freshly exchanged mercury bullets.

[Current blood echoes: 12936]

Although Goki had spent blood echoes to retrieve quite a few miscellaneous items from the Hunter's Dream in recent days, none of them were valuable except for the retractable cane. Coupled with the two waves of Seaborn harvested today, he still had a significant surplus.

Especially the Kinder Surprise eggs; smashing one gave over two hundred. If Goki hadn't been unsure if he could revive, he would have long since rushed into the sea to farm blood echoes—he used to do that often anyway.

[Let's try it first.]

Loading the blood-filled mercury bullets into the break-action pistol, Goki recalled Kal'tsit's examination of him.

Since his blood could withstand the torment of liquid Originium, and he hadn't gone mad like Specter, then… if he used bullets filled with his blood to give Specter a good shot, would it make her feel a little better?

Don't tell Goki about different blood types or rejection reactions—you laugh at me for not understanding medicine, I laugh at you for not understanding Yharnam!

"Skadi, where are the Abyssal Hunter's vital points? I'll specifically avoid them!"

Shouting his question to Skadi, Goki aimed his gun at Specter.

He had once entered the Hunter's Dream. Hunters in Yharnam were once as numerous as fish in a river, but all were trapped within the Hunter's Dream; most of the Hunters there had gone mad, and Goki had failed to save them.

However, facing this mad Hunter before him, Goki could at least try.

"Brainstem! Heart! Actually, even if you hit them, it's not a big deal; timely treatment means she'll live!"

Meeting the rapidly spinning chainsaw, Skadi, before striking, suddenly rotated her sword hilt again.

Whoosh—boom!

With a bang, beside the previously flashing red light on the mechanical greatsword, another light suddenly illuminated.

Bang!

The sword tip drew an arc, and with an unstoppable momentum, it directly jammed into the circular saw in Specter's hand.

Immediately after, Skadi directly released the greatsword, letting it fly several meters away with the circular saw.

"That's it."

Then, the cute Orca in the red dress clenched her small fists.

Bang—

With a heavy thud, Skadi's fist directly landed on Specter's stomach, which was covered by her robe.

"Pfft—"

In an instant, a brief sonic boom cloud even appeared around the two. Specter coughed violently, spraying out glistening saliva.

Forget about this being a stomach punch; if Specter weren't also an Abyssal Hunter, this punch could have killed a cow.

And even so, Skadi didn't stop her assault. Her high-heeled leg lifted sharply, directly stomping on Specter's long boots, and her other fist directly hammered Specter's chest, immediately causing a ripple.

Then, Skadi went head-to-head, giving the still struggling Specter a headbutt. While she was dazed, Skadi directly pushed her to the ground and pinned her limbs.

"Now, Goki!"

Meanwhile, Goki, who had been stunned, quickly ran over, his expression full of distress.

"You could at least go easy on her; she's your colleague after all."

No matter what, Skadi and Specter were the 'deep sea lovers' in fan creations, and Goki hadn't expected Skadi to be so impolite.

"Stop with the strange talk, hurry! It'll be even more trouble when she wakes up."

Skadi naturally didn't know what Goki was thinking. In her opinion, the white-haired female Hunter in front of her was truly unfamiliar, so hitting her was fine—and she hadn't even used much strength!

"Yes, yes, yes. If I'd known you'd be like this, I wouldn't have used bullets—lift your leg a bit."

Looking at the two intertwined jade bodies, and the beads of sweat that had slipped from Skadi's neck and rolled into Specter's collar, Goki silently etched this beautiful scene into his memory.

Taking the bullet out of the chamber, Goki patted Skadi's thigh beneath her short skirt, lifting it slightly. Then, he gripped the thick mercury bullet, directly piercing Specter's skin and inserting it into her smooth inner thigh.

With a gurgling sound, the viscous blood was slowly injected into Specter's body.

It was mixed with a bit of mercury, and some Originium solution that had remained in Goki's body, but since the other party was a Hunter, it wasn't a big deal.

"Phew… this feels strange, but she really has calmed down—what are you looking at?"

Feeling Specter's resistance beneath her body gradually decrease, Skadi turned her head, only to see Goki behind her, looking at her with a serious expression.

"Of course, I'm observing her condition. I don't know if it will work."

[Doll, please increase my Bloodtinge attribute to 10.]

[Good Hunter, are you excited?]

[Not at all… well, I'm incredibly excited—in every way.]

Originium, Seaborn—these powers, along with the Hunter's blood from another world, had produced some subtle reactions.

What was the connection between them? What secrets did they hold?

"This world is truly interesting—"

For the first time, Goki, not as a former Doctor, but as a Hunter, felt curiosity about the land of Terra.

He suddenly wanted to explore the secrets of this world.

"Besides the Seaborn, are there any other prey worth hunting?"

After all, besides being a Hunter, he was also a scholar—he had learned quite a bit about the knowledge of madmen and the wisdom of the Great Ones.

Terra… truly interesting.

In the dim darkness, Specter felt a glimmer of light, bright, cold, yet full of temptation.

She followed the light, swimming upwards with all her might.

"Damn it, let me—out!"

Finally, she leaped out of the water like a fish.

Above the vast ocean, a blue moon hung high in the sky, emitting a pale and cool glow.
