"You can always trust Iron Body (Tekkai)…"
After sheathing his sword, El looked up at the dazzling blue light blooming across the sky and, almost unconsciously, muttered a famous joke from his previous life.
Then he blinked, genuinely surprised, and sighed. "Still not dead. This really is a world where even the average person has absurd defensive stats. 'Superhuman' really does mean tougher than normal."
It was no exaggeration to say El's Flying Slash (Tobu Zangeki)—stretching hundreds of meters—could carve a trench into the sea tens of meters wide and deep, and send its force out for three miles.
Against a slash like that, unless a ship was built from extremely tough wood, an ordinary large three-masted sailing ship—if struck head-on—would be split as cleanly as when Hawkeye casually cut Krieg's ship in two.
If swordsmen who mastered both "Cutting Steel" and Flying Slashes were ranked, then a Flying Slash measured in meters would only qualify as "common"—the sort you could find all over the Grand Line.
Only when a Flying Slash was measured in miles could its user be called truly powerful.
And after mastering Armament Haki, El had reached that level.
Bonier's strength wasn't bad. He'd even developed variations of the Six Styles (Rokushiki). Compared to Rob Lucci back in the CP9 era, the gap in raw ability wasn't huge.
And yet—
He had taken El's direct, serious strike… and still hadn't died on the spot.
Bonier was simply too hard to put down.
It seemed Iron Body was still genuinely useful—especially its variation forms.
If El remembered correctly, Tekkai was essentially a pseudo–Armament Haki state.
Bonier developing a variation from Iron Body meant he was only one step away from awakening Haki—one step away from grasping that invisible "feel."
BOOM!
Just as El finished his thought, a figure slammed into the ground.
The same figure El's Flying Slash had launched even higher through midair.
Bonier looked miserable.
His white suit was shredded. His mask was gone, revealing the wolf-like face beneath. He had entered Human–Beast Form.
Red wolf fur covered his body, now riddled with cuts of every size. The most obvious wound was a sword gash running from his right abdomen up across to his left chest.
But compared to that wound, his most serious injury was—
His left arm was gone.
It looked like an arm fed into a meat grinder. The wind blades bursting from El's Flying Slash had torn it apart into countless pieces.
If Bonier hadn't used Iron Body in time—buying himself the brief moment needed to transform into Human–Beast Form before the slash swallowed him—his entire body might have been shredded the same way.
His Iron Body variation—Shave Iron Ball—couldn't stop El's Flying Slash at all.
"So you used a Devil Fruit," El said, resting the sword across his shoulder as he studied Bonier's form. "Wolf face, red fur… Are you a Zoan wolf-type? Or a dog-type?"
"Brat… I'm going to shred you!"
Bonier's eyes burned with hatred as he roared, his face twisting.
With a sharp, tearing sound, his figure vanished from where he stood. He used a Shave (Soru) variation and lunged like a wolf—aiming to bite El.
"Anger can make you stronger," El said calmly, "but it can also make you weaker."
Bonier appeared within striking range—crossing hundreds of meters in the blink of an eye.
El didn't move. He only looked at him.
"Your thoughts and your actions…" El continued, voice flat. "They're an open book to me."
"It's over. Nice to meet you—goodbye."
Out of respect for the first "strong enemy" he'd faced, El used Life Return (Seimei Kikan) and pushed his body from a normal state to its absolute limit.
Not everyone who learned Life Return could reach a true 100% state.
But El's control was extreme—speed, power, precision—everything surged from zero to MAX.
Under Bonier's widened eyes, El slid his sword back into its sheath again.
Swish!
In the next instant, El's figure vanished from Bonier's sight.
He moved so fast that even Bonier's enhanced Zoan dynamic vision could only catch a faint afterimage.
A heartbeat later—
Bonier crashed onto the sand.
Because his limbs were no longer attached.
Originally, El had only planned to sever Bonier's hand tendons and hamstrings.
But this was his first time fighting a genuinely strong opponent—one with Zoan-level durability and recovery—so El chose not to hold back.
If El hadn't wanted the Six Styles (Rokushiki) training method hidden in Bonier's mind, he would've cut him cleanly in two.
After resheathing the blade, El crouched, knocked Bonier unconscious with a quick chop to the neck, and reached out—
To read his memories.
…
No matter how strong someone was, without Seastone, Armament Haki, or another method to restrain a Logia user, even the strongest CP member in the last eight hundred years would have only one choice when facing the girls' Three Heads and Six Arms state:
Use Moonwalk (Geppo) to flee.
Otherwise, they would be defeated—possibly killed.
And in this case, the opponents were only ordinary CP agents.
The two women had eaten ordinary Zoan Devil Fruits—purchased with the merits they'd accumulated for years.
After sealing off the retreat with a wall of flame, Nami, who temporarily held dominance over the fused body, wanted to finish them with a Fire Fist.
But after hearing El's instruction, she abandoned the killing blow.
Instead, she used flames to propel herself forward and flashed in front of them.
Their attacks passed through her body—completely useless against elementalization.
Then she extended four arms and seized one of the women in a crushing hug while Kuina, copying El's movements, cut the woman's hamstrings and hand tendons with precise sword strikes.
During all this, the other woman kept attacking the fused trio.
It was pointless.
Even with her Devil Fruit power, every strike she landed was futile—because against a Logia body, without the right counter, nothing stuck.
PS :
Bonier – CP agent opponent revealed to be a Zoan user; extremely durable;
Shave Iron Ball – Bonier's Iron Body (Tekkai) variation;
Pseudo–Armament Haki (concept) – Framing used here: Tekkai is treated as a Haki-adjacent defensive state that can hint at someone being close to awakening real Haki.
