"Armament Haki is basically the opposite side of what you just used," Koushirou explained calmly. "Observation Haki helps you read an opponent's movements and avoid their attacks. Armament Haki, on the other hand, is used for defense and offense."
"It can strengthen your body, like putting on invisible armor. It can also enhance your attacks—doubling your power or more. You can even wrap it around your weapon, making that weapon sharper and tougher, like a famous sword…"
He paused, then continued:
"And the last type, Conqueror's Haki, is the rarest among the three."
"It's rare because it's not something that can be gained through training. It's a kind of king's disposition—something only one in a million people are born with."
Koushirou went into detail, laying out the three types of Haki.
For Conqueror's Haki, he simply shrugged.
That one is up to fate.
When he finished, he added gently:
"You've already awakened Observation Haki. As long as your body reaches a certain level, I believe you'll awaken Armament Haki before long."
"I didn't expect there to be different kinds of this power…" El sighed lightly.
Then he looked straight at Koushirou with open curiosity.
"Senior, do you have all three types of Haki?"
"No."
Koushirou shook his head.
"I've only mastered Armament and Observation Haki."
Hearing this, El's expectant gaze grew even brighter.
"Then, Senior… could you show me the power of Armament Haki?"
"Very well. Come at me."
Koushirou smiled.
Whoosh—
El didn't hesitate for a moment.
He tightened his grip on his sword and rushed toward Koushirou, slashing straight at his torso.
A loud metallic crash rang out the instant blade met body.
Clang—crack!
It felt as if El's sword had struck the hardest substance in the world.
The blade shuddered and split with a harsh crack, fragments spinning through the air.
A broken piece of steel whirled over El's head and plunged into the ground behind him.
El's eyes went straight to Koushirou's weapon.
The ordinary sword in the master's hand was now covered in a pitch-black gloss—like obsidian clinging to the metal—turning it into something no longer ordinary.
"So this is Armament Haki… What an incredible power."
El couldn't hold back his genuine admiration.
"Yes," Koushirou nodded. "With Armament Haki, you can elevate even a common weapon to the level of a named blade."
"The so-called legendary Supreme Grade Swords are nothing more than weapons forged and then continuously tempered with the user's Armament Haki."
"I see…"
El let that sink in, then looked up with a serious expression.
"Then, Senior… how does one awaken Armament Haki?"
"The method to awaken Armament Haki is neither easy nor impossibly hard."
Koushirou didn't hold back.
"Unlike your Observation Haki, which awakened at a very young age, Armament Haki requires a clear condition before it can surface."
"That condition is physical strength—your body must reach a level where it can draw out and withstand that power."
As he said this, Koushirou almost unconsciously remembered his own training—his father, Kozaburo, guiding him and pushing his body until he finally awakened Armament Haki himself.
It felt like he was simply repeating his father's lessons.
Through his heart-reading, El could tell that everything Koushirou said was true.
There was no deception or half-truth.
El hadn't expected his plan to go this smoothly.
He couldn't help but feel a bit of genuine respect for Koushirou.
This man really was a Master Swordsman who had resisted the temptations of fame and glory, choosing instead to quietly teach the next generation in the weakest of the four seas.
In that sense—
El knew he couldn't compare.
He was certain that until he became the strongest swordsman in history, he wouldn't be able to abandon the world's temptations and live in seclusion during his prime.
That was precisely why he now felt sincere admiration for Koushirou's selfless teaching.
"Thank you for your guidance, Senior."
After Koushirou briefly laid out the conditions for awakening Armament Haki, El sheathed the broken remains of his sword, bowed deeply, and spoke from the heart.
"You're welcome," Koushirou replied. "Even without my guidance, you would've mastered this power sooner or later."
Looking at the modest, serious boy in front of him, a hint of regret once again passed through Koushirou's eyes.
The regret of not being able to personally shape this raw, perfect jade.
He let out a quiet sigh from deep within.
"The gears of the era are turning. Seeing you convinces me even more—the future of the seas will belong to your generation."
