"The boss's office is this way, follow me." Sean Ashton immediately led the way, "Mrs. Lockwood, what's wrong with your leg? Did you fall? Didn't Miss Dunn say you had left?"
Evelyn managed a guilty smile, finding it hard to say anything and only followed Sean.
Sean opened the office door, and Evelyn stood at the entrance, appearing somewhat awkward.
"Mrs. Lockwood, go inside. There's a small partition in the office; the boss is resting inside," Sean said softly.
Evelyn responded, took a deep breath, and slowly moved inside.
She walked to the partition doorway and peered inside; her eyes, once filled with joy, suddenly dimmed.
The partition was a small yet exquisite bedroom; Caden Lockwood lay on the bed while Shannon Dunn sat at its edge, gently massaging his temples.
Shannon had a faint smile at the corner of her mouth, while Caden, with his eyes closed, seemed much relaxed.
Seeing this scene, Evelyn realized her persistence in coming to see Caden was indeed unnecessary.
