"You're concerned about me?" Caden Lockwood's lips curled into a lazy arch, neither a smile nor an anger.
Not hearing Evelyn Morgan's response, Caden continued, "Didn't you say staying with me was terrifying, that each day felt like a year, and you wished to be as far away from me as possible?"
"That was just drunk talk," Evelyn explained softly.
"And liking Logan Shaw, was that from the heart?" Caden lowered his voice, "Was it sincere?"
Unsure why there was small talk at this moment, Evelyn resignedly lowered her eyes and softly said, "No."
After hesitating for a moment, she explained further, "Logan and I are really just friends! It feels like he's a long-lost brother, there's a very familiar feeling."
Not hearing a response, she couldn't help but look up and meet Caden's gaze, softly saying, "So, please don't hurt him! Destroying someone's dreams is a very unethical thing to do. I don't want you to become that kind of person."
