Jason was still looking for what to say when Elena walked down the stairs dressed in a blue dress, she held a handbag.
Jason looked at her as she walked past them. He wanted to ask her where she was off to but he refrained because Melinda was standing there, not that he was afraid of her, he just didn't want Elena to speak to him without any care as if his business wasn't hers, in front of her.
Elena was about to go to bed when she received an email, she had to rush back to the office, Adam was already there waiting for her. She quickly removed the clothes she had worn earlier after bathed, she wore a simple blue dress before she heading out clutching a black big handbag.
When she was in the stairs, Elena felt something was wrong with the way they were, it wasn't like what two lovers who had just reunited would do.She shook her head, of course he would have to coax her into forgiving her, girls always need pampering, Elena was very sure the girlfriend just needed him to clarify things before pouncing on him.
She walked past them pretending to be absentminded, of course it was just for a show. She felt a little hurt, after all, they were already legally married.
Elena got to her car, she was about to get in when her phone rang. It was Rachel.
She picked up the call, pausing outside the car.
After saying some words, Elena hung up, just then the beautiful girlfriend inside ran out in tears.
Yes, Elena thought that the girlfriend was very beautiful,but, she would never say that out loud. She looked at the woman's back.
She must need a lot of pampering, or had Jason said something heartwrenching to her? No it couldn't be the case,she had seen how he acted when she she informed him about her arrival earlier. She must just need a lot of coaxing.
Elena got into her car and drove to the company, she remembered how Jason wanted her to always move around with the help of a driver but she wasn'ton the best of moods yo worry about any driver. She drove her self trying to focus on the information she'd received.
When she got to the office, Elena saw that Rachel and Adam were waiting for her in their office. She sat down immediatedly before asking,
"When did we receive the tender document?" She looked at Rachel.
"Ma'am, we received it just an hour after you left the company." Rachel answered adjusting her eyeglasses.
"Okay... From which company?" She was intrigued, she prayed it was a good one. Though they were still working on the last project they had gone to Jamaica to sign, there were still some free hands on deck, she knew her team could handle it,they needed as much projects as they could lay their hands on because it was the season where contracts were normally given out to companies, after that season, everyone would have finalised most things and the companies awarded the contract would be busy working on the projects before the holidays. Some project needed just a short while to be completed, but some took up to six months or a year or even more, a year's worth contract was what she had signed in Jamaica. They would only be done the next year.
Although Elena didn't hear the first words Rachel spoke, she was able to grasp the last part. "It's a very renowned insurance company, I'm sure you've heard of safeguard insurance company."
Elena nodded. It sounded nice. She turned to Adam who had been silent all the while. "Adam give me the RFP." Adam handed the file to her swiftly.
Elena went through the documents with full concentration, she only raised up her head after going through all the pages.
"Rachel, schedule a meeting with the head of sales, head of business development and the head of legal counsel first thing tomorrow morning, also get the CISO of infotech to join in." She instructed.
After getting everything ready for the next morning, the three of them went home in different directions.
When Elena got home, Jason was working in the living room, he was on his pyjamas, something she hadn't seen before, he was also putting on glasses.
Elena was dazed. He looked too hot at that moment. She shook her head reminding herself that he belonged to someone else even though they were married.
He raised up his head just as she'd come to her senses.
"You're back." He said bit his eyes didn't linger in her, they went back to the laptop laying on his lap.
"Yes.." when she saw that he made to attempt of saying something else she walks past him.
"Who said you could go?* His dominating voice rang. Her feet paused. She didn't know why but she felt anger build up in her, hit and rash at the same time.
