Chapter 269 - Chapter 269: Capturing Peter Pettigrew

Thanks to his increasingly powerful physique after taking the ability potion, Allen effortlessly carried a large pile of wood and leaves back.

He immediately noticed Hagrid, sitting sadly beside the roaring fire, helping the young wizards feed the flames.

"Today's lesson was excellent," said Allen, putting down the wood and leaves he was carrying and walking toward Hagrid.

"Thank you, Allen!" Hagrid seemed somewhat cheered up.

Allen immediately noticed the crumpled document Hagrid was holding, and pointing to it, asked, "May I see it?"

"Ah, of course!" Hagrid handed the document to Allen.

"The hearing date has been set for April 24th. You need to bring Buckbeak to the London office of the Committee for the Elimination of Dangerous Creatures to report," Allen read softly.

Hagrid seemed unable to bear it, and tears glistened as they dripped into his disheveled beard.

Wiping his eyes with his arm, Hagrid stammered, "Don't you know those guys on the Committee for the Elimination of Dangerous Creatures? They're always picking on interesting animals!"

Although Allen was fond of Buckbeak, he couldn't entirely agree with Hagrid's definition of "interesting animals."

What Hagrid described as "interesting animals," others would often call "terrifying monsters."

However, Buckbeak didn't look particularly dangerous. In fact, by Hagrid's usual standards, he was quite endearing.

"You know, Hermione's preparing your defense statement, right?" Allen lightly tapped Hagrid's thick arm.

"Of course, Hermione is wonderful. She's already done so much for me," Hagrid said, blinking and trying to hold back tears.

"But it's no use!" Hagrid sobbed, "Those devils in the Extermination Committee, they're all under Lucius Malfoy's command! They're all afraid of him! If I lose, Buckbeak—"

Hagrid quickly ran his finger down his throat and groaned sadly.

Seeing the curious glances around them, Allen quickly handed Hagrid a bottle of a calming and soothing potion.

Hagrid was terrified, very upset!

Allen immediately explained his plan to Hagrid.

"Thank you, Allen. I have some things here I can trade for Galleons," Hagrid blinked his large eyes and began to list his possessions.

In Allen's eyes, this matter was not difficult. All he had to do was send a letter to Mr. Harris, whose influence within the Ministry of Magic was growing daily, and Mr. Harris would handle it perfectly for Allen.

When he told Hermione that he had found a suitable lawyer, he noticed that a huge weight had been lifted off her shoulders and she seemed relieved.

Hermione's coursework was incredibly heavy, almost overwhelming.

Every evening, Allen would see Hermione sitting in a corner of the library, surrounded by tables piled high with textbooks, arithmetic tables, a dictionary of runic writing, diagrams showing how Muggles carried heavy objects, and countless pages of notes.

He resisted studying in the Gryffindor common room, and Allen understood why.

On the one hand, the young lions were rather mischievous; on the other hand, he had heard that Hermione and Harry had recently grown estranged.

January transformed into February unnoticed, and the freezing cold showed no sign of changing.

When Allen learned from Edward that Harry Potter had received a Fire Arrow from Professor McGonagall, he immediately left Ravenclaw Tower.

First, he sent his owl, Benny, to Albert with a secret letter.

Then, he left Hogwarts Castle alone.

After crossing the empty courtyard, Allen stopped behind a clump of bushes and quietly recited a spell.

With a "crack," the house elf Maggie appeared before her.

"Sir, Scabbers escaped to the Forbidden Forest. He's not dead," Maggie said quickly, stating her knowledge before Allen could even ask.

He was very curious how his master had known before the holidays that Ron's rat, Scabbers, would pretend to be dead and run away.

"Go ahead," Allen insisted. Now, catching Scabbers quickly was more important.

Allen hurried towards the Forbidden Forest without noticing a red-haired child who emerged from a nearby spot.

It was Ron who fought with Hermione and ran away from the castle.

Ron stubbornly believed that Hermione's Crookshanks had killed Scabbers. He was having a hard time accepting the loss of his mouse and, consumed by rage towards Hermione, had fled the castle.

He inadvertently saw Allen quickly exit the castle. Out of curiosity, he hid himself.

"It looks like Allen is going to the Forbidden Forest? Why would he contact a house elf?" Ron quietly followed behind him.

But what Ron didn't know was that Malfoy was following him silently, not far behind either.

Malfoy had initially planned to ambush Ron when no one was around, but seeing Ron's sneaky movements, he couldn't resist and followed him.

What Malfoy didn't know was that a pale and somber figure in a black cloak was silently following him from behind. UU Reading www.uukanshu.net

This was Professor Snape. He had seen Malfoy following Ron and assumed Malfoy wanted to play a prank on Ron, so he followed him to make sure Malfoy didn't cause any big trouble.

Luna leaned over the wide-open window high in Ravenclaw Tower and sighed ethereally, "Hamelin's Magic Flutist?"

Maggie was very fast, and Allen quickly followed her as she ran.

Ron used all his strength, but could barely follow Allen's direction.

Malfoy was surprised too. Why was this Weasley running around so recklessly? He became a little excited, wondering if Harry Potter and his friends had broken the school rules again.

Allen managed to corner Scabbers near Whomping Willow.

Pretending to be curious, she said, "Oh, isn't that Ron's pet Scabbers? How did he get here?"

Scabbers froze in place, seemingly hesitating whether to run or not.

He didn't look well at all; he was skin and bones and had lost parts of his fur, which made him look very distressed.

Allen's wand, hidden beneath his robe, silently flew from his wrist. Before Scabbers could react, he swiftly pointed the wand at him, "Labyrinth Magic!"

Scabbers quickly vanished from his location. This spell could have banished him to an interdimensional labyrinth of force planes.

Unless he could escape the labyrinth using his own intelligence or summon a Minotaur to guide him, he could only exit the two-dimensional maze when the wizard lifted the spell.

In any case, Allen will need enough time to wait for reinforcements to arrive.
