Kai was being punched in the face badly because Mark managed to grab his wooden sword. Mark was grabbing it hard, making sure Kai couldn't move the sword From his grad, so Kai twisted the blade while Mark was gripping it, forced his Posture to twist, and then Kai hit him with his knee. The pain made Mark let go of the wooden sword, and then Kai took a step back, creating distance.
Dammit. I've been fighting him alone for a while. What the hell is Ren doing?
Mark regained his posture and prepared for another attack, an overhead chop. Kai shifted his position to block and yelled, "REN!"
Mark's chop attack broke Kai's wooden sword in half.
Shit. Now this is useless.
Well, I guess I have to rely on my martial arts. Kai instinctively let go of the broken pieces, but Mark suddenly lunged to grab one of the broken pieces.
Kai freaked out.
Why the hell is he lunging? For the broken piece? He's leaving his head, neck, and everything exposed just to grab it. Is he planning something? Did he do this on purpose, or is it because the broken piece is that important to his plan?
Sadly, Kai was thinking too much, and Mark had already made his move.
He threw the broken piece toward Ren's direction, but Ren had already thrown another whip attack, but the throne stick disrupt it. Then Mark sidestepped away from both Kai and Ren.
Ren got closer to Kai and stared down Mark.
How long have we been fighting?
Ren thought to himself. He honestly didn't know, but he was pretty sure it had been a bit long. But this fight was still a waste of time. The cops were still on their way. They needed to finish this fight eventually, or at least…
Ren glanced at the back of Mark. Behind him was the elevator.
Take the fight outside of here.
"Kai. Elevator."
Kai didn't take long to understand what Ren meant, so they both charged at Mark.
Ren threw two whip attacks. One came from the side of Mark. He dodged one, but he couldn't move too far because of the other one's direction. If he moved any farther than that, he would have been attacked.
But the first whip he dodged hit the button of the elevator.
The shades, after the attack was done, didn't dissolve like usual. They stopped their motion for a second, then wrapped around Mark pretty quickly.
Mark didn't expect that, because until now Ren had shown very little about the fact that he could control his shades, except for the one time with the chair, but he assumed that was just skill.
Kai tackled the bound Mark into the elevator.
Ren got there immediately as well, and the elevator doors closed while they were inside. All of them held their positions.
Mark tried to get up, but instead he was lifted into the air. Ren was still wrapping his shades around him, but this time he redirected them around Mark's arms, forcing them to cross behind his back and leaving his front body completely exposed.
"FUCK—FUCK—FUCK!"
Mark freaked out. This was a horrible situation to be in. He tried to break out of the bind as quickly as possible, but he didn't have enough time.
BAM.
Kai's first punch landed straight into Mark's stomach. He hit him so hard Mark almost puked, but he couldn't.
BecauseThe next punch was to his jaw, it forced his mouth closed and made him swallow his puke.
Then Kai unleashed a storm of punches everywhere, eyes, neck, stomach, chest, shoulders, ribs. Everywhere. If the elevator had been a little bigger, Kai would've preferred throwing a couple of kicks as well, just to make the beating even more devastating.
The assault continued for a while.
Ding.
The elevator doors opened.
Ren and Kai instinctively glanced toward the open doors, seeing what was outside. It was a narrow alleyway, white walls, nothing there except a dirty street.
That single second of distraction was a mistake.
Even though Mark had been beaten badly, he still managed to take the opportunity. He twisted his body sideways, slamming into Ren—who was still holding him—and that collision sent them tumbling out of the elevator and into the alleyway.
They quickly got up and made distance.
Mark exited the elevator as well and made distance in the opposite direction.
The three of them stood in the alleyway, separated, staring each other down.
Ren and Kai were disheveled. Their clothes were a mess. They were bruised. Their hair was dirty. Their glasses had fallen to the ground, shattered, and somehow they still had their masks on.
As for Mark, he looked bad. His entire front body was nearly completely bruised.
That made Ren chuckle a little.
A few seconds ago, physically, Mark had been much better than them. Even though they had landed a couple of good hits before, he had done far more damage to them more pacifically Kai. until the elevator.
Now his body was completely fucked up.
Mark heard the laugh and was furious.
"Y—y—"
He tried to speak, but his throat had been hit too badly. He couldn't speak right now.
So he didn't bother trying to speak again and charged at them.
But halfway through his charge he tripped
not because there was anything on the ground, and not because he tripped on his own—
Ren sneakily created a shade from behind Mark and went for his foot, deliberately tripping him.
Mark fell face-first to the ground.
When he got up, there was some dog poo smeared across his face. He tried to wipe it off, but he couldn't, because Kai immediately kicked him in the face.
Ren tried to follow up as well, but this time Mark managed to block the kick and grabbed Ren's leg.
Ren tried to pull his leg away, but Mark wouldn't let go. He dragged him toward the ground, trying to beat him down. No matter how much Ren struggled or how much Kai is gonna beat him down Mark wouldn't release his grip, and he wouldn't stop attacking.
Kinda like what he did when he grabbed Kai wooden sword But this time, it didn't work.
Unlike before with Kai, Ren could break the grip easily. He used his shade, altering it—making its width extremely thin so it could slip between Mark's fingers. Then the shade suddenly thickened, forcing Mark's hand open.
Ren successfully broke free and backed off.
Mark got up and roughly turned toward Kai, getting back into a fighting stance. He threw a punch that Kai blocked and countered. Mark tried to dodge, but his body hurt too much, and he couldn't move in time and got hit.
From behind them, Ren had had enough of this fight. He wanted it to end immediately.
This time, he created two shades from his arms and swung both whips as hard and as fast as he could. He actively controlled them, adding more momentum and strength to the strikes.
It was the strongest attack he could manage right now.
The whips slammed into Mark's back.
"REEHHHHH!"
Mark roard in tremendous pain
The attack tore his shirt apart and broke skin, blood bursting from his back. The damage was unbelievable. Anyone else in Mark's position would have passed out instantly from the pain.
But he didn't.
Instead, he lunged at Kai, grabbed him, and pulled him in front of Ren, using Kai as a shield.
"G G- Go away leave HERE RIGHT NOW,—"
Somehow, he managed to force the words out, even though his throat was still damaged.
Kai blocked Ren's view, but the brief glimpse Ren caught of Mark's eyes showed absolute terror. Even though Ren's blow hadn't taken him down completely, the sheer amount of pain had shattered his mental state. He wasn't trying to win anymore.
He wasn't even trying to attack Kai he was just trying to survive.
Kai pushed back against Mark as hard as he could, but Mark refused to let go.
Eventually, Kai bent backward while forcing Mark's head up, exposing his face.
Ren took the opening instantly.
He whipped Mark straight across the face.
That final blow finally knocked Mark out.
