The wind stopped its painful howls and time seemed to stop as the armies stared at each other from across the plain. The predatory eyes seemed to speak of silent intertwinement.
Then Tairron raised one hand, though he stood in the middle of the surge of gruesome fellows, his eyes aura blazed like a mini black hole.
"Attack"
A voice so soft. It oozed of indifference.
The dark army surged forward. Their cries tearing the plains beautiful scene. The sands were sure to flow with blood.
On the other end, the commanders looked on coldly to the tiding army before them. With a cold snort, Kaizan slammed his staff into the ground. The armies grew tense, like pulled strings.
The earth split in glowing lines, and towering vines erupted upward, forming barriers. The three armies merged, their formation intact. The archers stood behind the heavy infantry as the first wave collided. The wolves smashed into the wall, claws sparking as phoenix archers loosed flaming arrows from behind it.
Brivan and Caiser lifted their arms.
"Advance."
The army moved like a tide. The archers and spell casters were left behind the barrier as the others flanked out from the sides directly cutting the opposing army into three parts.
Dragons burst into flame and took to the sky, shifting mid-leap into massive winged forms. Phoenix warriors ignited into blazing bird-like silhouettes, streaking overhead like falling stars. Demon soldiers charged from the ground, their blades glowing red with heat.
Casiar ran forward, Blaze, his horse following right by his side.
The ground cracked beneath his feet as he transformed.
Scarlet scales tore through his armor as he morphed into his primal form—a colossal red dragon. His wings snapped open, scattering stones and sand alike. He roared, and the sound shook the clouds.
The dragon legion followed after their commander.
Hundreds of dragons burst from humanoid form, wings beating rapidly into the air. Firestorms collided with dark magic as the skies became a battlefield of dragons and phoenixes.
Valkyrian raised his blade and leapt skyward, slashing a crescent of shadow that split through three phoenix warriors mid-flight. Brivan answered by shifting into his wolf form—vast, pale blue and white fur gleaming—and lunged upward, colliding with Valkyrian in midair, their clash exploding into lightning and darkness.
Below, witches unleashed spiraling clouds of magic. Dark witches countered in kind. The ground became a maze of spell fire and charred craters.
Brenton charged into the front lines like a siege engine, scattering druids with sweeping blows. Kaizan lifted his staff, green light surging outward.
Roots erupted from beneath Brenton's feet, wrapping his legs. Golden light burst forth from the vines as they tightened like chains. Brenton roared in anger, his muscles bulging in a bid to free himself—but Kaizan was already casting again, summoning beasts made of vines to charge at the humongous dark commander from all sides.
In the skies, berserk vampires crashed into the dragons, their claws prying into their scales. Wings beat loudly, raising whirlwinds on all sides. The clouds had gone red from the blood mists rising from below. Dark dragons spewed violet fire that met Casiar's inferno head-on, exploding in blazing shockwaves.
Then—
Tairron moved.
His cloak billowed as he stepped from the carriage, lifting both arms. The clouds above twisted into a vortex. Dark mist poured downward like rain, empowering his army. Dark fae shrieked and surged forward with renewed speed.
Casiar saw him.
With a thunderous beat of his wings, the red dragon dove straight toward the dark commander, fire building in his throat.
Tairron turned his hooded head.
A wall of black flame rose to meet Casiar's blast, splitting the battlefield into a blazing red and dark shadow. The collision sent shockwaves across the field, knocking soldiers from both sides off their feet.
Brivan hurled the battered Valkyrian into the ground and leapt toward Casiar's path, racing across the air like a white comet.
Kaizan lifted his staff once more, voice carrying across the battlefield:
"Hold the line!"
The armies surged, the gloom from the dark army set in like a tide as Valkyrian arose from the crater his body had made, the hole on his side making for a gruesome sight.
He raised his furry head to the reddened sky and let out a furious howl.
His muscles expanded further, the wound at is side releasing streams of heat. It was healing at a speed visible to the naked eye.
He turned his head to the blitzing figure of Brivan and growled. The distance between them seemed negligible at the moment. He was leisurely blitzing through the field following the enemy commander. Like two Dogs chasing a bouncy ball.
Valkyrian seemed to have given in to his frustrations as he slammed heavily into Brivan's side; A clash of Alphas.
Brivan was caught of guard as he was thrown into the ground meters away. He rose to his hind feet in the same instant, his snout releasing steam. His cold eyes looked at the black wolf in the distance.
He released a howl. It echoed through the field like an imperial command. The Soldiers on both sides seemed to have gotten the call. A thousand meter free space was left around the two commanders. The clash of titans had begun with a bell toll from the heavens.
They collided.
Valkyrian sent a claw to Brivan's face, his shadow seeped across his fur, a bid to corrode the commanders white furred face.
Brivan bent his head, a long gash appearing on his chest. He let out a deep growl.
He kicked Valkyrian in his chest, widening the distance between them. Lightening arcs flashed between the two as Valkyrian's black fur was scorched leaving red flesh in its wake.
He howled, their figures collided again in flashes, destroying the scape around them. The ground trembled as shockwaves rippled on its surface.
The battlefield seemed silent as they tore at each other in their own small world. Time had stood waiting for one to remain.
"..."
A deep howl reverberated on the battlefield after what seemed like forever.
The world around them was broken apart by the sight. Brivan's clawed arm protruded from Valkyrian's back. His chest heaved weakly as he clung tightly to the whit wolfs body.
He waved his bloody arm sending the black wolf out of the free space, he landed deep in the dark army's ranks crushing a few dark soldiers underneath his gigantic body.
His body trembled as he slowly took on his human form.
He coughed up blood, his eyes dull and lifeless.
His skin was bruised and blackened, scorch marks lining his figure.
'Was he dead…...?'
