Death and Life had always been intertwined. For every trail of blood left in the snow, a soul flower would bloom.
A feather so dark, floated down from the blood red sky. A monster had been awakened.
*********
The battle had begun with the crack of dawn. The soldiers of the border city walked their path to the golden sun plain was covered in a blanket of snow, the gold in its name. All for naught.
The soldiers walked, their steps not quite like before. The exhaustion had bored deep into their minds. 'Was this their actual goal?....'
The thought was fleeting. A mere transient notion, One they dared not dwell on.
Caiser rode on his trusty horse, his face a sheet of ice. Even a Dragon could feel frustrated.
Kaizan sat still on the mount. His gentle aura, a thing of the past. Now it was all thorns and Snow.
The masked enchanters strode on snow covered ground, their boots sullied in the mud.
A man sat too on a horse, its dark coat challenging the surrounding scenery. It couldn't be missed.
The mans hair flowed down his black cape like a tar fall. His fingers wrapped around the reigns of his horse; so loose. The army behind him too had never seen the border. Their eyes shone in awe from the beauty of snow covered plains and mountains.
The mans face was beyond the thoughts of any creature that had walked the Earth; Adonis in pure reflections.
His eyes long and slender with narrow corners. A phoenix encased in a shroud of pure darkness.
Evil but untainted.
He wore no helmet on his head. His pointy ears were in full view. So beautiful.
The hour long walk didn't seem that long for the soldiers that got to see his back.
*******
The Golden plain had indeed been drowned in blood. Its surface a mere whisper of its past glory. Though the planet tended to heal itself over time, the deep craters and scars that ran across its breadth were enough for one to feel pain.
Cairo, the new commander on the order army let out a heartbroken sigh, his eyes revealing a trace of complexity and emotion as he surveyed the snowy field. He got down from his horse, his black combat boots lightly tapping at the frost before him. He knelt on the frozen ground as he bowed deeply to the land he loved.
As he stood, his eyes burned brightly with anger that could thaw frozen lands. The red eyes blazed a fire that knew no allies. His fury spread across the entire army, their Killing intent rising high into the sky...just like the first time.
The already torn down forest across the snow veiled plane, remained only a few trees to watch over its forgotten glory, rumbled as dark soldiers surged to the plain. Their grating voices and piercing screeches grazed the already taut nerves of the border army, Their fury exploding even further, wrapping tenderly around the plain.
Caiser quivered slightly as he walked to this new commander.
"The horns will sound...."
The blare rang through their ears like peals of thunder, shaking their already riled up hearts. They were up for a massacre.
When the other sides army had gathered together on the plain, the gears of battle had set themselves into motion.
Caiser eyed the berserk vampire that took charge of the Vanguard after the others had fallen, his eyes filled with a spine chilling hatred.
Brivan had fallen to those slender fingers, they drove him to a corner as they carved at his bloodied skin. Caiser wanted blood.
Kaizan's not so gentle aura spiked as he looked on expressionlessly at the other side, there was no point assessing anything. They had already developed to the point of loving each other to death. They were like old couples, they knew them all like their own selves.
Like a stampede of shadow beast, the earth began to quake. The charge had begun. The tremor ran through the surface of the the jagged plain, a slow breath held in its chest.
Cairo cast a side glance at the other commanders, his meaning was clear.
The trio raised their weapons, giving the order for a charge but they followed not. The soldiers fought like savage beast, they were to pissed to care about the fate of a devils corpse. They tore through like predators on a sheep farm.
The devils were no different, they were also quite impatient, casting their spells with a renewed craze. This battle was drifting into unspeakable corners.
Cairo watched on from the rear, his eyes gleaming with a need for violence.
********
A faint buzz invaded the air space causing the soldiers to drop to the I knees.
Their weapons made clanging sounds as they dropped against the floor.
Their bloodied hands clutched at their heads, low pained groans were the only sounds left.
The commanfers at the other side seemed startled at first but their ferocious eyes turned gleeful moments after.
A cloaked figure walked forward from the dark army's rear, his back hunched from apparent old age.
He raised his thin arms to the sky and recited an incantation.
Green clouds covered the sky above the field.
A sense of foreboding filled the border army soldiers.
Green bursts of light fell upon the soldiers, their savagery increasing tenfold.
The border soldier still knelt on their floor, the pain on their faces not easing in the slightest. Green halos rose from their crouched bodies, rising to the sky and entangling with the green fog up above.
The soldiers wailed in pain, their eyes bulging from their sockets, no one was spared.
Not the ones who took their battle stances in the sky.
Not the ones who stood firm on the ground.
They all faced the peril- at least with the exception of the hunks that stood at the rear.
Caiser furrowed his sword shaped brown, his features a mix of rage and fire.
The fury wasn't a boon Caused alone shared. Kaizan almost couldn't contain his roiling bloodline.
The only one with a calm exterior stood between them, his eyes staring straight at the hunched figure surrounded by the other commandrs of the dark army.
Cairo's frosty eyes showed no surprise at the turn of events. It semmed to be something he had anticipated.
