Chapter 44: Talk To Me
"There you are."
Harry sat upright on the swing and looked to his side, only to spot Ginny approaching him.
There was a hint of amusement on her face. "My brother has been looking for you all over the house. I told him you were probably outside, but he didn't believe me."
"Oh… I lost track of time." Harry didn't realize that he had been sitting below the apple tree for so long.
"You have been disappearing a lot lately. Something has really changed in you, huh?" Ginny said. "Oh, and you are missing breakfast, by the way."
"Sorry about that." Harry was at least conscious that disappearing in such a way while he was staying with the Weasleys was a very rude thing to do.
But he couldn't help but feel the need to be alone once in a while. "I needed to think."
He had been alone for so long that his mind had grown accustomed to this peaceful state, and he had a hard time concentrating on anything when other people were around.
"Nah, I get it. I do that too sometimes." She pointed at the swing where Harry was sitting. "My brother Bill made that for me when I told him this was my favorite spot."
"This is your swing?" Harry asked.
"It is. I even engraved my initials on the seat." Her expression softened. "But I can see that you needed it more than me, so I will let you use it whenever you want."
"Thank you. I can see why you like this spot." Harry said. "It's very peaceful."
"You're welcome." Her eyes went to the hat on top of Harry's head. "Your hat is very quiet this morning. Is he still sleeping or something?"
"He says he is trying to be considerate," Harry told her.
"Hmm?" Ginny tilted her head to one side. "When did he say that?"
"V and I can communicate without the need to speak. We have a mental connection." Harry responded.
"But… you two are always speaking out loud." Ginny pointed out.
"Yes, that's because…" Harry stopped for a moment. "That's because I like to speak with him."
It was also because Harry had been afraid of losing the ability to speak if he stopped using it for too long. So he and V always tried to use words to communicate whenever possible.
"Well, you know, Harry? You can also talk to me if you want." Ginny told him.
Harry glanced at her and smiled. "I do like talking to you. I don't get nervous… It's almost like talking to V."
Ginny didn't really understand what he meant at this point, but she felt it was a compliment.
"I am sorry to interrupt, but… You two are missing breakfast. I don't think the Weasley Matriarch would appreciate that." V finally spoke.
"Ah! He is right. Mom would get mad if we didn't go now." She made a gesture to Harry. "Come on, hurry up."

After only a few minutes, Arthur Weasley rushed out to get to work, while the Weasley twins left as well, saying that they had much to prepare for their shop in Diagon Alley.
Harry and Ginny ate their breakfast, and Ron asked for seconds.
"Mate, we should go flying after this." Ron tapped Harry on the shoulder. "Did you remember to get your broom from the ugly toad?"
"Ron Weasley. Don't talk like that about a professor." Molly scolded him.
"How did you know I was talking about that particular professor?" Ron had a proud grin on his face.
"Hmph!" His mother huffed and went back to cooking the sausages.
"We did get his broom back, yes," Ginny said.
"We?" Ron glanced at his sister.
"Ginny helped me out to sneak into the office and retrieve the broom." Mostly because Harry had long forgotten he even had one of those things.
"You two are hanging out now?" Ron made a confused expression.
"What's wrong with that? Harry is also my friend." Ginny frowned.
"But you have a boyfriend. Shouldn't you be hanging out with Dean?" Ron asked.
"Excuse me? Who has a boyfriend?" Molly almost dropped the pan.
"I do not have a boyfriend anymore!" Ginny snapped. "I broke up with Dean. Not that it is anything of your business!"
Molly was about to say something, but Ginny turned around and left the house in a rush.
"…Why didn't she tell me anything about this?"
"When did she break up with Dean?" Ron wondered. "He would have told me."
Harry knew the answer to that but decided to keep quiet about it, as it felt wrong to say anything without Ginny present.
He then heard the hat talking in his mind and praising his decision.
"Well… anyway." Molly placed a plate with sausages and bacon in front of Ron. "I will have to talk with that girl later on. She is too young to be having boyfriends already."
"It's not like Dean is the first one." Ron rolled his eyes.
"What?!" Molly exclaimed.
"N-nothing." Ron hurried to occupy his mouth with food.
His mother stared at him with suspicion for a long moment before turning her attention to Harry.
"Do you not want any seconds, my dear?"
"No, Miss Weasley. It was very delicious." Harry really meant that. After growing accustomed to the muted flavours of the frozen world, Miss Weasley's food was truly extraordinary.
"I'm glad to hear that." She offered him a warm smile. "Ah, before I forget, your godfather sent me a message. He will be coming to visit you in the afternoon."
"Sirius is coming here?" Harry sounded surprised, but also glad to hear this.
With everything that happened, he had almost forgotten about him after sending him away from the Ministry.
But now he was glad to hear that he was fine and that he would see him soon enough.
