Storm looked at 2B again, this time with clear respect.
"If she's guarding you," he said, "getting close won't be easy for anyone."
"That's the point," Ethan replied calmly. "I don't want to rely on luck."
2B turned slightly toward Ethan.
"My role is to ensure your survival, Lord Ethan. All threats will be neutralized."
Storm nodded slowly.
"I believe it."
He then looked at Ethan.
"But don't depend on her alone. Even the best weapon needs backup."
"Not to mention she is just an machine "He said looking at 2B who looked back at him but didn't replied back.
Ethan smiled faintly.
"I know. That's why you're here too."
"though, don't worry I have her programmed to work even in extreme condition "
Storm gave a short nod.
"Also, I've created something new for you," Ethan said. "It will give you superpowers."
Storm looked at him for a moment, then simply nodded.
After seeing 2B, Storm no longer felt like he was the strongest blade and shield protecting Ethan. For the first time in a long while, he desired more power.
Even if Ethan hadn't said anything, Storm would have trained harder anyway. That was his purpose. Especially after the one failure he could never forget—failing to protect Ethan's mother.
"Let's go," Ethan said, turning around. "But I'm warning you—it's going to be painful."
Storm followed him without hesitation.
"The path to power is never easy."
Ethan nodded and led them down into the basement lab. He walked to a section of the wall and pressed a hidden switch.
With a low mechanical sound, the wall slid open, revealing a far more secretive section of the lab.
This area was filled with advanced weaponry, sealed containers, and dangerous creations—things Ethan had never shown to anyone else.
He stopped in front of a pod-shaped machine.
"This," Ethan said, "is an Artificial Infusion Chamber. Its function is simple—it fuses a person's cells with a metal of my or their's choosing."
He then revealed a polished piece of vibranium.
"And this is what I've chosen for you."
2B looked at the metal, then spoke calmly.
"Vibranium possesses superior energy absorption and redistribution properties. Based on analysis, there is a greater than ninety percent chance that Sir Storm will gain enhanced energy absorption and redirection abilities."
Ethan nodded.
"Yes. That's exactly what he'll gain."
Storm looked at the chamber, then at the vibranium—then stepped forward.
"Do it," he said without hesitation.
Ethan placed a hand on the chamber's controls.
"Once we start, there's no turning back."
Storm met his gaze.
"I'm ready."
2B stepped slightly closer, standing by in case anything went wrong.
The chamber powered up, its lights slowly coming alive.
Ethan moved forward and placed his hand on the chamber.
With a soft hiss, the pod opened.
"Step inside," Ethan said.
Storm did not hesitate. He removed his coat, set his katana aside, and stepped into the chamber. The interior adjusted to his height automatically, clamps sliding into place without restraining him fully—just enough to keep him standing.
Ethan picked up the vibranium piece and placed it into a circular slot inside the pod. The metal slid in and locked with a sharp click.
2B watched silently, her sensors fully focused on Storm's vitals.
Ethan closed the pod.
The transparent surface sealed shut, and the chamber powered up.
"Starting infusion," Ethan said, pressing the final button.
The machine hummed.
A deep purple mist began to fill the pod, thick and slow, wrapping around Storm's body. The temperature inside spiked instantly.
Storm's muscles tensed.
Veins began to spread across his skin, glowing faintly purple as the vibranium infusion started bonding at a cellular level. The energy moved visibly under his skin, like liquid light flowing through his body.
Pain hit.
Storm clenched his jaw so hard his teeth creaked.
His hands shook.
But he did not scream.
He did not even grunt.
His breathing stayed controlled. His eyes stayed focused. His face remained calm, as if he were meditating instead of enduring something that would have broken most people in seconds.
2B spoke quietly.
"Pain tolerance exceeds predicted levels. Cellular rejection is minimal."
Ethan watched closely, fists clenched at his sides.
"…Good," he said.
The purple mist grew thicker. The vibranium energy spread deeper, reinforcing bones, muscles, and nervous pathways. The chamber lights flickered as the system pushed more power into the process.
Storm's veins glowed brighter for a moment—then slowly began to fade back into his skin.
Minutes passed.
Finally, the machine's tone changed.
[Infusion Stabilizing]
The mist began to clear.
Storm's body stopped trembling.
The glow vanished completely.
Ethan let out a slow breath he didn't realize he'd been holding.
The pod opened with a hiss.
Storm stepped out.
He stood still for a second—then rolled his shoulders.
The air around him shifted slightly, like an invisible pressure wave.
Storm raised his hand.
A faint ripple of energy bent around Storm's palm, then vanished as he relaxed.
"…I can feel it," Storm said calmly. "Everything that hits me… I can absorb it. Redirect it."
Ethan nodded.
"Let's test it."
Storm nodded back. Ethan then looked at 2B.
"She's the easiest option," Ethan said. "And she can also control the amount of force she uses. That way we can see how much you can absorb before reaching your limit. Even vibranium has a limit."
Storm nodded again and turned to 2B.
"Go on."
2B stepped forward.
In the next instant, she moved.
Her fist struck the center of Storm's chest.
It was so fast that Ethan couldn't even follow it with his eyes.
"…I really need to work harder on my Quan Chi template," Ethan thought, realizing he couldn't track 2B's movements properly.
2B continued.
Punch after punch landed on Storm's body—clean, controlled, and precise. His chest, shoulders, and arms took the hits directly.
Storm didn't move.
He didn't flinch.
It was as if he was standing in front of a light breeze instead of a combat android using real force.
The energy from each strike rippled across his body, then vanished—absorbed and dispersed perfectly.
Minutes passed.
Then Storm raised his hand.
"Alright," he said calmly. "Now I can feel it. I can't take much more."
