"Eh. Another Horizon machine. Sure, why not."

He waved the window away and turned his attention to the real prizes—the three Universal Gachas floating before him with a faint glow.

"Alright… time for the big boys."

He rubbed his hands together and pointed.

"System, roll the first Universal Gacha."

The wheel spun—fast, bright, almost blinding—before stopping with a chiming sound.

[ Universal Gacha Result #1: Advanced Super Soldier Serum Batch – Six Vials ]

Ethan's eyes widened.

"Oh damn… that's actually really good."

Six vials.

Enough to create six super soldiers without side effects, mutations, or failures.

He couldn't help grinning widely.

"Now that is useful. Alright, let's keep going—next one!"

Ethan pointed at the second glowing cube.

"Alright, System—roll the next one."

The wheel spun again, slower this time, like it was building suspense.

A final clack echoed as it stopped.

[ Universal Gacha Result #2: Character Template – Quan Chi (Mortal Kombat) ]

Ethan froze.

"…Wait."

He blinked once. Twice. Then leaned closer at the hologram as if his eyes were malfunctioning.

"That says… Quan Chi? As in that Quan Chi? Bald demon necromancer guy? Mortal Kombat Quan Chi?"

He tapped the window.

It didn't disappear.

It didn't glitch.

It didn't say "April Fool's."

He slowly covered his face with both hands.

"Fuuuuuck… did I just hit the jackpot?"

He opened one eye. Still there.

Opened the second. Still very much there.

This wasn't a dream.

This wasn't a hallucination.

This wasn't some prank from the System.

He actually got Quan Chi—one of the most broken, overpowered, cheat-coded characters in the entire Mortal Kombat universe.

Soul manipulation.

Teleports.

Necromancy.

Runes.

Mind control.

Summons.

Portal tricks.

Magic that absolutely did not care about physics.

Ethan's jaw dropped slowly.

"…Holy shit. I can't believe this. I actually got him. I actually got freaking Quan Chi."

He started pacing in circles.

"This isn't just good. This isn't just useful. This is busted. This is—this is full-on cheat mode."

He stopped, stared at the glowing template again, and whispered:

"Okay. Deep breaths. No fainting. No screaming. No evil maniac laugh. Not yet."

Then he pointed sharply at the last gacha cube.

"System… we're finishing this run. Roll number three."

He grinned, shaking his head.

"Now I don't even care if I get basic deodorant. I'm already happy with Quan Chi."

The cube spun—bright, fast, humming with energy.

Ding.

[ Universal Gacha Result #3: Particle Infusion Chamber (Marvel Universe – Same Model Used in the Graviton Experiment) ]

Ethan's smile slowly froze not happy but confused now.

"…Huh."

He leaned in.

"Graviton… who was he again?" Ethan tilted his head, wrecking his brain but not remembering much. So he simply asked the system.

[ Graviton – Glenn Talbot. A general who became fused with Gravitonium and gained the ability to manipulate gravity. ]

"Ohh right. That guy," Ethan nodded. "So… I need Gravitonium to actually use this chamber properly."

"But won't anyone enhanced with it go crazy? Like the Graviton guy?"

[ Correction:

Graviton went crazy because Gravitonium contains fragments of human consciousness—hence the instability.

Plus, it works with all Elements not just Gravitonium.]

"…Oh," Ethan blinked.

"So the guy didn't just become evil—he had screaming souls in the metal. Nice."

He clapped once.

"Okay, as far as I remember, Gravitonium doesn't appear until after the New York War."

He paced a little, thinking.

"Hmm… but I can get Vibranium by dealing with Ulysses Klaue. And with Vibranium, I could give Vibranium-based abilities to someone under me. Yeah… using that to make Storm into a bodyguard monster is a better idea."

He nodded to himself.

"Well, I have Quan Chi now, so I don't need to go through torture procedures to get powers. I'm good."

"System, can I give multiple elemental powers to someone? Like first Vibranium power, then Gravitonium later. Will it work or not?"

[ Host can, as long as the subject can endure the transformation pain and has a strong enough body to handle multiple abilities. ]

"Hmmm… so I'll stick with one element for now. But I can give Storm the super soldier serum, then first give him Vibranium, and later Gravitonium. Yeah… that's a good plan," Ethan mumbled with a grin.

"Okay… next grand project: Project Super Powers." He nodded and went to work.

"Let's build it. The world is going to change fast—better be safe than sorry," he muttered as he began adjusting the Replicator to build the Particle Infusion Chamber, as well as a chamber for safe Super Soldier transformation.

"And done… so it will take, hmm… six hours? Good." Ethan stretched his arms. "In the meantime, I can check my Quan Chi template."

He nodded to himself and pulled up the system window.

"Alright system, explain. How does this template work? The other templates fanfic I read had stages—first the basic abilities, and then slowly more powers as the fusion increases."

[ Correct. Quan Chi Template works the same way.

Host starts with 1% fusion, which gives access to basic abilities only.

As host practices and resonates with the template, the fusion level increases.

Higher fusion = more of Quan Chi's abilities unlocked.

At full fusion, host gains complete mastery of Quan Chi's skill set. ]

Ethan whistled softly.

"So I start at one percent… then I have to train to unlock the rest."

"Pity there's no OP form from the start… but fine, I'll work my way up to the top."

He nodded and sat down on the bed.

"Alright, system—start the template fusion."

[ Initiating Quan Chi Template Fusion…

Fusion Level: 1%

Basic abilities unlocked. ]

A cold pulse ran through Ethan's body—like icy smoke slipping under his skin. His eyes flickered with a faint green hue for a moment.

[ Unlocked:

• Basic Necromancy

• Soul Flames

• Minor Soul Manipulation

• Basic Dark Magic Attacks ]

Ethan exhaled slowly as the strange energy settled inside him.

"…Whoa," he muttered, looking at his hand as a tiny green flame flickered to life at his fingertip. "Okay… that's actually sick."

He snapped his fingers, and the flame vanished.

"Huh? I wanted it to grow—why did it disappear?"

Ethan stared at his hands, confused, before the green flame appeared again. He tried to sustain it… but it vanished just as quickly.

[ Host's magic reserve is very low. Soul Flames consume a large amount of magic. ]

"I see," Ethan nodded slowly. "Makes sense. Big power, tiny battery."
