1. Something Phantom...
Staring at the setting sun with a sharp, unblinking gaze through the vast, extravagant office window, he slipped into the depths of his own mind—where pain, grief, and anger twisted together like shadows.
A sudden voice behind him shattered the silence.
"Sir, we received a call from the hospital. All arrangements have been completed, and we are ready to proceed."
At those words, the faint light in his eyes dimmed once more. His expression hardened, returning to that familiar darkness as he answered coldly, "Yes," directed at his assistant, Kyron.

Half an hour later, the ultra-exclusive, limited-edition Bugatti La Voiture Noire glided to a halt in front of the hospital, its engine purring like a warning in the cold morning air.
As soon as they stepped inside, the chief doctor hurried toward them.
"Good morning, Mr. Brooks, th—"
Maximilian didn't let him finish.
"Any improvement?" he asked, voice like a blade.
Dr. Hyes's shoulders sagged. The disappointment on his face was painfully clear.
"No… still the same. Or rather… worse would be more accurate. I'm sorr—"
He froze.
Maximilian's glare hit him like a physical force—cold, furious, and accusing. The unspoken message was clear: Do not dare speak of failure.
The doctor swallowed hard, unable to continue.
Kyron shifted uncomfortably beside them, suffocated by the pressure in the air. Clearing his throat, he stepped in.
"Ahem… So, doctor, what exactly do you mean by 'worse'? Could you explain?"
"Y-Yes… yes, of course." Dr. Hyes stuttered. "The thing is… the patient's condition is going beyond our understanding."
"Beyond your understanding?" Kyron repeated, eyebrows knitting. "What is that supposed to mean?"
Dr. Hyes glanced at Maximilian, then quickly looked away.
"We kept the patient under strict surveillance. And… we noticed something… unusual."
"Unusual?" Kyron pressed again.
The doctor hesitated. Too long.
Maximilian's eyes sharpened, a silent threat demanding the truth now.
Dr. Hyes's face drained of color.
"S-Something… paranormal," he whispered, the last word trembling out of him.
