Chapter 187 - 187: The Admiral Who Clocked Out

"Huh… is it time to get off work?"

A thick book was lowered by a large hand. Enel yawned lazily, his azure eyes half-lidded with drowsiness.

Momousagi set her coffee aside and began organizing the chaos on her desk. Documents and pirate wanted posters were scattered everywhere, across the desk and even on the floor.

"Gion, you seem even more beautiful today."

Enel swung his legs down from where they had been resting near Momousagi and stood up, stretching casually. He looked at her as she worked, his tone light and openly flirtatious.

With his long silver-white hair, lazy azure eyes, mischievous smile, and a well-tailored silver suit, Enel was undeniably striking.

Among the four Marine Admirals, Silver Dragon Enel was not only acknowledged as the strongest, but also, at least in his own opinion, the most handsome.

Of course, this belief was entirely self-proclaimed.

To Akainu, Aokiji, and Kizaru, this man was nothing but a headache.

Faced with Enel's shameless compliment, Momousagi picked up another stack of files and wanted posters, rolling her eyes despite herself.

She genuinely had no idea how she ended up as this man's subordinate.

And now, it was far too late to regret it.

"Don't be so cold," Enel continued cheerfully. "How about I treat you to dinner tonight?"

He lifted his coffee cup, his smiling gaze filled with undisguised intent as Momousagi continued tidying up.

Once everything was neatly stacked, Momousagi finally looked up at him. Meeting his mischievous eyes, she felt nothing but exhaustion.

She took a deep breath and spoke seriously. "You know about the Enies Lobby incident, right?"

"Of course."

Enel shrugged, dropped back into his chair, and patted his thigh casually. "I can even be a chair for Vice Admiral Momousagi, free of charge."

"I refuse."

Momousagi rejected him without hesitation.

"How heartless," Enel sighed dramatically. "I was really looking forward to it. Just imagining Vice Admiral Momousagi's round and perky…"

"Shut up, you idiot."

Her serious expression shattered instantly. If she did not interrupt him now, she had no doubt he would continue spewing increasingly inappropriate remarks.

"You're so gentle with everyone else, yet so cruel to me," Enel said, clutching his chest as if wounded.

Momousagi's breathing grew slightly uneven. She forced herself to calm down, ignored his theatrics, and continued. "The Enies Lobby incident severely humiliated the World Government. Fleet Admiral Sengoku called earlier. He wants you to handle the Straw Hat Pirates."

"Handle?" Enel echoed.

He slouched deeper into his chair and casually flipped through the wanted posters she had organized. Several belonged to members of the Straw Hat Pirates.

He paused, pulling out two in particular.

The Furious One, Ethan.

Rose Queen, Emma.

A faintly amused expression crossed his face as he studied them.

Facing his gaze, Momousagi hesitated briefly before answering. "Capture them, most likely."

Although Sengoku had used the word "handle," she knew better. Straw Hat Luffy was Vice Admiral Garp's grandson. Capturing him was the more reasonable option.

"Capture or eliminate, either way," Enel said lazily. "For something this troublesome, Sengoku actually thought of me."

He yawned again, clearly unimpressed. "That old man Garp's fists hurt like hell. What are Kuzan, Borsalino, and Sakazuki doing?"

Momousagi said nothing, simply staring at him.

"That look won't work on me," Enel replied, waving a hand. "Next week is my vacation. Please, help me refuse this mission properly."

"Go tell Fleet Admiral Sengoku yourself."

Momousagi's expression instantly turned cold.

Every month, this man took a full week off. That alone would have been tolerable.

What truly infuriated her was where he went during those vacations. Either Gold City or the pleasure district.

"You're my most beloved subordinate," Enel said with a grin. "I'm sure you'll handle it beautifully."

Before Momousagi could respond, he glanced at the clock.

"Oh, time's up. I'm officially off work. If anything comes up, contact me in seven days."

A flash of lightning erupted in the office and vanished just as quickly.

Momousagi stood frozen, staring at the still-swaying door. Her face flushed with anger as she clenched her fist and slammed it onto the desk.

That idiot.

He harassed her endlessly, yet never crossed the line.

That somehow made it even worse.

Just imagining him spending his vacation in Gold City or the pleasure district filled her with irritation she could not explain.

"Pururu… Pururu…"

The Den Den Mushi rang from the desk drawer, snapping her out of her thoughts.

Momousagi exhaled, composed herself, and pulled the drawer open with practiced ease.

"Admiral Silver Dragon…"

The moment the call connected, Sengoku's authoritative voice rang out.

"Fleet Admiral, this is Momousagi."

In Marineford Headquarters, Sengoku felt his temple twitch the moment he heard her voice.

"That bastard is off work, isn't he?"

His tone left no room for doubt.

"Yes," Momousagi replied evenly. "And he didn't take the Den Den Mushi with him."

"What day is it today?"

Sengoku instinctively turned to Tsuru, who was working beside him.

"If I'm not mistaken," Tsuru said calmly, "tomorrow marks the start of Silver Dragon's seven-day vacation."

"That bastard."

Sengoku cursed openly. It seemed he would have no choice but to assign someone else to pursue the Straw Hat Pirates.

Meanwhile, in the skies of the New World, a bolt of lightning tore across the heavens, reaching its destination within an hour.

The pleasure district.

An entire island dedicated to indulgence.

Its most famous feature was its sprawling red-light district, and the ruler of this island was the Pleasure Queen, Stussy.

To the outside world, her name was rarely spoken.

As one of the kings of the underworld, she controlled nearly half of the world's red-light districts. Her true identity, however, was that of a CP0 agent serving the World Government.

The red-light district was known as paradise for men.

As dusk settled, the island came alive. Streets overflowed with people, lanterns casting intoxicating colors across meticulously arranged avenues.

Pirates, Marines, merchants, and countless others mingled freely, all drawn into the haze of indulgence.

If Gold City symbolized wealth, then this place embodied comfort, desire, and temptation.

Beautiful women filled the streets and alleys, dressed in their finest attire. Their alluring gazes seemed almost electric, impossible to ignore.

Giant race women, Longarm Tribe beauties, and countless others could be found here. Whatever one desired, it existed, as long as one had enough Berries.

Beyond indulgence, the island also offered gambling houses, coliseums, and countless forms of entertainment.

Rumor claimed that any man who survived in the New World yet never spent a night here could hardly be called a man at all.

Boom.

Thunder roared, splitting the sky.

Those who heard it stiffened.

Pirates and thugs alike immediately reined in their behavior.

In front of the most luxurious hotel at the very center of the island, azure lightning crackled violently, condensing into a single figure.

"Welcome, Admiral Silver Dragon."

Rows of beautiful women emerged from the hotel entrance, their smiles practiced and radiant.

It was clear.

This was far from his first visit.
