Chapter 186 - 186: Bonds of Blood

Ethan and Emma were siblings. Whether in the real world or within the reincarnator worlds, they had always relied on one another.

There was a six-year age gap between them, and to Emma, Ethan was far more than just an older brother. He had been her guardian, her pillar, and at times even the role of both parents combined.

From as far back as she could remember, Ethan had been the one taking care of her. Life had never been easy for them, yet as long as circumstances allowed, he always did everything in his power to satisfy her needs. Emma never knew where their parents were, nor did she ever ask.

Though Ethan was slower than most people, less sharp mentally, and naturally quiet, his care for Emma was meticulous to the extreme.

As long as she was happy, Ethan was content.

Because of how they grew up, Emma became unusually mature for her age and developed an exceptionally strong and domineering personality. She did not want to always stand behind her brother, protected and sheltered. She wanted to become strong enough to protect him as well.

Anyone who dared bully her brother would be met with merciless retaliation from her.

Likewise, if she were ever wronged, Ethan would erupt with anger and strike back without hesitation.

It was only after a certain incident that the siblings became reincarnators.

Together, they traveled through world after world, surviving one danger after another. Over time, they grew into powerful figures, reaching Main God Space levels 31 and 30 respectively, even pushing their exchangeable abilities to their current limits.

Now, they had arrived in the Pirate World.

Most of the worlds they had previously experienced were ones Emma was familiar with, while Ethan knew none of them, including this world of pirates.

The reason was simple. Ethan had spent his days working tirelessly just to support Emma, leaving him no time for leisure. Emma, on the other hand, had plenty of free time and had watched countless movies and anime.

Fortunately, she had seen this one.

Otherwise, the two of them would have died long ago in earlier worlds.

Emma had naturally watched One Piece.

However, upon arriving in this world, she immediately noticed differences.

For instance, the number of Marine Admirals had increased from three to four. Most concerning was the existence of Silver Dragon Enel. Emma strongly suspected that this man was a Darkness.

This time, the five missions issued by the Main God Space were surprisingly straightforward.

Except for the fifth one.

Hunting the Darkness.

This was the first time she had ever encountered such a mission.

Joining the Straw Hat Pirates, helping them rise to the level of a Yonko crew, assisting Monkey D. Luffy in becoming the Pirate King, and finally overthrowing the World Government were not particularly difficult objectives.

In the original story, Luffy was destined to accomplish all of this eventually. Emma and Ethan merely needed to follow along and ensure nothing went catastrophically wrong.

Joining the Straw Hat Pirates was almost like a vacation for them. Compared to the constant scheming and life-or-death struggles they endured in other worlds, this was a rare chance to breathe.

However, unexpected changes still existed.

Aside from Admiral Silver Dragon Enel, something had clearly gone wrong with Sanji and Usopp, who should have joined the crew but never did.

More puzzling was Luffy himself.

He had already mastered all three types of Haki and unlocked Gear Fourth before even entering the New World.

That alone made Emma uneasy.

The only comfort was that Luffy was still the same carefree, straightforward Luffy at heart. Because of that, she and Ethan had joined the crew without much difficulty.

At present, Emma's only real concern was the Marine Admiral Silver Dragon.

With Luffy's current strength, combined with the forces backing him, Emma was confident in completing all five missions issued by the Main God Space.

Once those missions were cleared, both she and Ethan would receive immense rewards, allowing their abilities to evolve even further.

The benefits were simply too generous to ignore.

At Enies Lobby, thanks to the presence of her and Ethan, along with Luffy's overwhelming power, the Straw Hat Pirates concluded the battle and escaped before the Marines could even deploy reinforcements.

Emma had a strong premonition.

An Admiral would eventually come after them.

The most likely candidate was Silver Dragon Enel.

If he also understood the broader One Piece narrative, then he would inevitably suspect her and Ethan. If he turned out to be hostile, he would certainly make a move.

In the Main God Space, reincarnators often cooperated, but they also hunted one another.

It was entirely possible that, aside from her and Ethan, there were other reincarnators hidden within this world.

Still, she was now a member of the Straw Hat Pirates.

Given Luffy's personality, he would undoubtedly protect his crew without hesitation. Combined with the forces supporting him from the shadows, the overall danger level dropped significantly.

"Wow, snacks!"

Luffy and Chopper suddenly burst into the flower garden, having finished their wild antics around the ship. Without hesitation, they grabbed the milkshakes from the table.

Nami's face immediately darkened.

Robin let out a soft laugh, while Ethan stood there holding the empty tray, expression unchanged.

Emma reacted instantly. The moment Luffy made a move, she secured her own milkshake, calmly taking a sip with a cool expression.

Since she was young, Ethan had worked in hotel kitchens to learn cooking, all so she could eat properly.

To Emma, whether her brother's cooking tasted good or not never mattered.

She would eat every last bite regardless.

"Luffy, leave some for me."

Chopper leapt onto Luffy's back, flailing his limbs while watching Luffy devour Nami's and Robin's desserts. He protested loudly, drool nearly spilling from his mouth.

"It's all gone."

Luffy turned around, stuck out his tongue, and opened his mouth wide to show that it was empty.

"I want some too…"

Chopper's ears drooped instantly.

Just then, a slender hand extended forward, holding a milkshake that was only half-finished.

Chopper's eyes lit up with starry excitement.

"Emma, you're so nice."

He adored Emma and happily reached for the cup.

At the same moment, Luffy opened his mouth wide again, clearly planning to snatch it first.

But Emma was faster.

Her delicate hand, coated in Armament Haki, smacked down onto Luffy's head with a dull thud. The next instant, Luffy rolled across the deck, clutching his head and crying out.

A steaming red bump quickly formed.

"Sigh…"

Nami pinched the bridge of her nose, looking like a mother disappointed in her foolish son.

Robin laughed so hard her eyes curved into crescents.

"Emma, that hurts! Are you trying to murder me?"

Luffy sat on the ground, indignant and wronged, his mouth wide open as he complained.

Emma remained seated, looking down at him with a cool expression, though there was a trace of helplessness in her eyes.

"If you want food, ask my brother to make it. Stop bullying Chopper. He's our ship's doctor."

"Mmm!"

Chopper sat happily on the table, eating the milkshake and nodding repeatedly.

"I'm the captain!"

Luffy puffed out his cheeks, then suddenly brightened as he looked toward Ethan.

"Ethan, I want more of this milkshake."

"Okay."

Ethan agreed without hesitation and turned to head back to the kitchen.

Luffy immediately perked up and followed after him, clearly intent on guarding the kitchen.

Chopper jumped down from the table and hurried along as well.

Before long, the Thousand Sunny was noisy once more.

Franky's and Zoro's irritated shouts echoed through the ship.

Meanwhile, deep within the New World, at Marine G1 Branch, the future location of Marineford after the great war.

Knock. Knock.

On the top floor of the central building, Vice Admiral Momousagi knocked on the office door while holding a cup of coffee.

"Come in."

A calm and lazy voice answered.

Momousagi pushed the door open.

Inside, she saw a man leaning back in his chair with his feet propped up on the desk. His face was completely hidden behind an indecent adult magazine, with only long silver-white hair draped over the back of the chair.

She could not help but sigh.

As his subordinate, she felt utterly helpless.

This man was the one who made pirates tremble in fear, the one even the Four Emperors treated with caution.

The Marines' strongest Admiral.

Silver Dragon Enel.

What the outside world did not know was that this Admiral was not only lazy but also shamelessly fond of adult magazines and pleasure districts. His strict nine-to-five work schedule was sacred to him.

Working even a minute overtime was unthinkable.

Because of this, Fleet Admiral Sengoku was perpetually plagued by headaches.
