Nathan's car pulled up right in front of the school gate, I recognized it immediately.
Normally Nathan would come out but he didn't, the door opened from inside. I slowed down before getting in, already scanning the back seat.
"Good afternoon, Miss Fiona," the driver said politely as he came down.
"Good afternoon," I replied, sliding in. "Where's Nathan?"
The driver closed the door and walked around to his seat before answering. "Mr. Keith asked me to pick you up today."
"That wasn't my question," I said, not harshly though, I was just having a bad moment due to Ella avoiding to hang put with me.
He smiled a little in the rearview mirror. "He's caught up with work."
I leaned back, crossing my arms. Nathan never sent someone else unless he really had to. Even when he was busy, he liked being the one to come. He liked opening the door.
"Did he say anything?" I asked.
"He said you'd understand."
I scoffed softly. "Of course he did."
