Hannah was totally devastated when she heard about the babies moving when she wasn't there to witness it. Not that she could see it or anything, but she still wanted to feel the first euphoria.
Perhaps because of their big sister's protest, the brothers immediately kicked into action.
Like...literally. They kicked at the same time. This was when Eugene realized he was having the spawn of his personality.
Hannah, the sweet Hannah, was a gentle baby who survived harsh conditions and was considerate of her papa until the end. Eugene was barely sober back then, but he would certainly remember if his daughter decided to use his stomach as a jungle gym. But she didn't; she merely gave him fluttering kicks that were enough for the doctor to be certain that she was still alive.
Not with her brothers.
"I thought...this intensity should only happen later..." Eugene said in a daze after a session of intense rolling and kicking. "Were they trying to assert dominance or something?"
