"Well...it's not bad," Eugene reluctantly muttered after the prosecutor left while nibbling on his salad. The man had refused to have lunch—which Arthur made while keeping an eye on Eugene's interview—so Eugene got to hoard two portions. "Is the trial date out yet?"
Elizabeth checked her note before answering. "In three weeks."
"Is that fast?" Arthur asked.
"Quite," Mr. Edwards nodded, spreading a napkin on his lap as he looked at Ian. "You won't have to get into the witness stand at first, but depending on the development of the trial, and if the judge deems it necessary, you might have to."
Ian lifted his head, brows raised high. "Huh? Then...where should we wait for that?"
"There's a room in the building, but you might as well wait in a nearby cafe."
"Is there any?" Eugene asked.
Arthur turned his head quickly, eyes widened. "Are you going too?"
"What? Of course, I am," Eugene frowned, shifting his gaze to Ian. "I promised you, Dad."
