Half a month later, the Trade Federation finally sent people to take away those who survived and paid a rescue fee. It was now the second month of CRC7936. Governor Kote was inside the Starport, observing the construction process of new starfighters. These were modified vagary frigates, reaching a length of three hundred meters. They were equipped with six missile/torpedo launch Systems and fourteen turbo laser cannons, making them frigates built entirely for combat.
"Excellent modifications, Commander. Are there any major changes to ground equipment recently?" Governor Kote asked the B1 Battle Droid accompanying him.
"Yes, currently the military factory can mass-produce cmc-400 power battle armor and its accompanying C-14 electromagnetic rifle," said the B1 Battle Droid, which possessed a duplicated consciousness of the Commander.
"Introduce the data for this armor and weapon," Governor Kote said, as he was not very familiar with it.
"The cmc-400 power battle armor is a technological product from after the Brood War. It is typically equipped by ordinary marines and features an improved NBC shield, a bio-circulation System, an automatic gravity balance System, an enhanced protection System, an in-helmet display System, and a structural support System. Its functionality far exceeds our current armor."
"So, have we started distributing them to our personnel?" Governor Kote asked. Hearing this, it seemed like a good thing, at least one set per person to start.
"No, the Mandalorian people are very resistant to these new armors. They believe it destroys their culture."
"That's true. After all, armor is like the face of the Mandalorian people. No one wants to change their face, right? Do you have any good ideas, Commander?" Governor Kote knew that for his race, changing their armor was no different from taking their lives.
"I think perhaps we could place these B1 Battle Droids inside the armor. Their strength should be sufficient to support this set of armor, but it still needs to be tested," the Commander said, looking at the body he was currently using.
"Then let's try it out. Bring a cartload of B1 Battle Droids," Governor Kote ordered, pressing the communication button on his wrist.
Soon after, someone pulled a cart of deactivated robots from the warehouse, and experiments began in the military factory.
Governor Kote first reactivated a B1 Battle Droid. "Ah, where is this?" the B1 Battle Droid asked, looking at the unfamiliar surroundings.
Then, he turned around and saw Governor Kote. "You are...?"
Governor Kote knocked him out with a punch, then had the Commander modify his internal AI. When he was reactivated, the B1 Battle Droid saluted and asked, "Governor Kote, what can I do for you?"
Governor Kote pointed to the tall cmc-400 power battle armor beside him. "Put it on and see if you can handle the job."
"Ah, this..."
"Get in there!" Governor Kote kicked him in, and they began equipping him. Ten minutes later, the equipping was finally complete.
The B1 Battle Droid looked down at the seemingly small Governor Kote from inside the helmet's display, moving his body vigorously. Fortunately, the armor had a structural support System that allowed him to use it completely, and he was not clumsy.
"Hmm, do a roll."
The B1 Battle Droid immediately rolled on the ground, then stood up, waiting for the next command. "Bend this steel pipe."
"Understood, understood." The B1 Battle Droid began to act, picking up a steel pipe beside him, bending it with force, and throwing it on the ground.
"A perfect power armor, but isn't it too luxurious to equip B1 Battle Droids with it? And their intelligent AI doesn't seem to be able to fully control them," Governor Kote said, stroking his chin as he looked at the armor.
"But currently, we don't have enough personnel to use these new armors. We need new personnel to train," the Commander said, looking rather troubled.
"Hmm, personnel... I've got it. We can clone. Commander, start searching the star map for Kamino. Everything we need is there."
The Commander stood still, beginning to search the current star map for Kamino. After more than ten seconds of searching, he said, "Kamino has not been found in the current star map. We need its specific location."
"Hmm... go to the Hutt people and see if they have the location of any unknown region star maps. After all, this concerns our future development," Governor Kote said, then prepared to gather his people to go to Tatooine. After all, that was considered the center of the entire Star Wars Universe; he wasn't familiar with Coruscant or anything like that.
Just then, Duchess Satine sent a communication request. The Commander brought out a holographic projection showing Satine's image.
"What happened, Cousin?"
"According to this month's police force report, the Death Watch has resurfaced. They've also attacked Trade Federation freighters and wiped out multiple pirate groups, leaving behind the Vizsla Clan's insignia. Do you have any ideas?" Satine asked Governor Kote, the instigator of this matter.
"Uh... there is such a thing, but... this whole thing was my design, but..." Governor Kote hadn't finished speaking when he was silenced by Satine's roar.
"You, the chief of police, are embezzling! You're also allowing the Death Watch to grow and actively attacking Trade Federation freighters! Do you want all the Mandalorian people to face sanctions?!"
Governor Kote was a bit speechless because he really hadn't considered what impact it would have on the Mandalorian people. He only thought that this way he could get a sum of money for himself, improve the lives of the Vadiel people, and deal with the pirate organizations in the Mandalore Sector to create a safe life for the people. Thinking this way, Governor Kote suddenly felt that he hadn't made too big a mistake; it was just that next time he had to target other corporations. After all, there were so many large corporations in the Galaxy.
"Sigh, next time, tell me about such things earlier. Don't act on your own. After all, we are a pacifist government."
"Cousin, wait, I'll send people to transport those millions of tons of supplies back to Mandalore, otherwise, the Vadiel people won't use them all in decades." Governor Kote didn't directly respond to Satine but chose to send supplies to Mandalore. Sharing them would make them accomplices.
"Absolutely do not let anyone else know that the New Death Watch is funded by you. Even if it's to combat pirates, don't let anyone know, otherwise, your position as chief of police will be revoked by the council." Unlike the completely pacifist Satine in the original story, our Cousin Satine supports having armaments, but the most basic premise is to protect the Mandalorian people.
"Okay, Cousin! But Cousin, is there a planet called Kamino in our star map? I need to go there for some things." Governor Kote suddenly remembered that the former Mandalore Empire was once a hegemon in the Galaxy, so perhaps they had preserved a star map of the Kaminoans.
"Hmm, I'll send someone to look for it in the star map." Satine then had her assisting robot begin searching. Soon, the robot beeped, clearly having found it.
"Found it. I'll send you the coordinates. Remember to be careful in everything you do. Safety first." Satine sent the coordinates of the Kamino System.
Governor Kote nodded, then Satine cut off the communication. "Is this what it feels like to have had a prosperous ancestry? I originally wanted to go to Tatooine, but it seems fate doesn't want me to go to the center of the Universe too early," Governor Kote couldn't help but sigh.
"Take some of the extra equipment aboard the hyperion, and activate those thousands of B1 Battle Droids gathering dust in the warehouse and put them all on the hyperion. We are going to Kamino," Governor Kote instructed the Commander to carry out the secret operation.
