Lara felt as though her entire world was at the edge of a cliff, and that it was about to fall.
Dizziness slammed into her, and she wavered where she stood.
She gaped at Lazarus.
"What...what did you just say?" Lara asked. Her voice was small and quiet, and her vision blurred as she stared at the bodyguard.
Lazarus took a stop closer to her.
"I'm sorry, ma'am. The doctor said that they had done everything they could do for him. And that all we can do right now is to wait. The doctor added that waking up is left to him," the bodyguard explained.
Lara felt as though she was falling.
How could that have happened? What if he never woke up again?
What if he...died?
Fear and Panic wrapped around Lara, and she suddenly found it hard to breathe.
"What...what room is he in?" she asked. Her voice was cracked, and tears threatened to slide down her face.
But Lara swallowed the tears and stood her ground.
