Tolu was bluffing.
There was no poison in the coffee beans, and nobody was dying, but the way Mike's eyes widened in horror made her smile so wide her face looked as though it had been splited into two.
His reaction made the lie worth it.
"What the...what the fuck is wrong with you?" Mike yelled as bile rose in his throat. He rushed to the sink and tried to rinse his mouth out, but there was no point.
He had drank at least three cups of that coffee, and now, Mike was sure that he was slowly rotting away from the inside.
Tolu smirked at his frantic actions. Mike's expression was pulled together in a frown, and he looked as though he was very close to throwing up.
He was repeatedly rinsing his mouth, and Tolu crossed her arms over her chest as she watched him.
