"I'll like to apologise for any inappropriate behaviour I might have exhibited when I got back yesterday."
Mike looked up the food he was eating to stare at Tolu. After she had gotten back home drunk out of her mind and absolutely ready to stab him with a broken bottle, he had helped her bathe and clean up.
Tolu had slept through the night and the entire next day. Today was the second day since she got back, and he was a little bit surprised to see her up already.
"Hello, Tolu. You did not get back yesterday. You came home two days ago," he said quietly.
Surprise flashed across her face.
"I can't believe I slept that long."
Mike shrugged but said nothing. His eyes was carefully trained on her, and he was trying to see if she remembered anything from that night.
"Why are you staring at me like that?" she asked.
"Just trying to see if you were apologising because you remembered what you did, or if you were just apologising for the sake of being polite," he deadpanned.
